Without passport you cannot enter into another country legally and officially. To perform HAAJ or UMRAH except Muslims of Saudi Arabia, rest of the Muslims of the World who are not Saudi citizen require valid and genuine passport and visa therin to enter into that country, the place of the origin of Islam and the Quran, the Hadiths, location of the Holly Qaba and the Moszid E Nabubee, etc. To obtain a passport or a visa from the country you plan to travel. Your passport issuing authority or visa issuing authority will surely ask you for your photos. Otherwise they will not allow you to leave your home country or enter into any other country including Saudi Arabia. As a true uslim, World Muslim communities need to perform HAAJ, one of the 5 mandatory religious rituals of Islam. For doing that they need to have passports which in turn has to have your photograph pasted thereon. of that of the passport holder for legal departure from his home country and entry into another country. Our prophet (pbuh) strongly discouraged images or statues of any living organism. If you abide by international law then you have to violate the orders and instructions of the prophet and vice verca. If you abide by the prophet then either you have to say 'No to HAAJ as you won't gain access to Saudi Arabia, or you have to be a traveler there illegally. What is your opinion in this regard ? I understand the religious sentiment behind not wanting to have photos being taken but in the modern world it's an inevitability with the existence of CCTV, official documents such as passports and drivers licenses, etc. To follow this would be to handicap yourself in so many different ways. I'm sorry but to me at least, practicality takes precedence.

I can see what mean, but it also said you have to follow the law of the land, and unfortunately passport with picture are the law of the land for every country, including saudi. When you perform hajj, pray to Allah to forgive you for this sin. In this time and age, that's all you can do.
