GILGIT: A mountaineer on Thursday became only the second Pakistani to scale Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak. Hassan Sadpara, born in 1963, reached the summit at around 7:30 am, Manzoor Hussain, President of the Alpine Club of Pakistan told. “He climbed up from the south route and reached the peak from the base camp in three days.” Sadpara is the second Pakistani to conquer the mountain after Nazir Sabir, who reached the summit in 2000, he said. “We were in touch with him and he told us he hoisted the Pakistan flag at Mount Everest this morning,” said Wazir Jaffar, president of a local mountaineering welfare association.

only the second??, anyways congrats, seems like the common pakistanis are trying to bring little joy by themselves

.
Scores of Pakistanis have hiked the K-2 which is the 2nd highest peak in the world and more dangerous that Mt. Everest, but scaling the Everest seems to be a bigger achivement.

.
Hassan Sadpara has a unique record of scaling the big peaks. He has, under his belt, K2, Nanga Parbat, and other great peaks as well.

.
Everest is for blind teenagers and kids compared to some of the fiercer Pakistani peaks. Not to take anything away from him, but no one should be concerned that only two Pakistanis have scaled Everest.

.
We have several threads on that from yesterday which are all merged. But never the less, Hassan hhoisted Pakistani flag on Everest, which means Pakistan flag waving on the top of all others! For scaling, K2 is the biggest challenge!
