Saudi investment in University in Jalalabad : $500 million funds

Did I say they conquered it ? Masood whooped them, just like he did the Soviets.....than your al qaeda buddies assasinated it him.The facts remain, read my link, altough you know I'm right, the world knows it.It's an open truth,Pakistan was full backer of the taliban, crocodile tears don't serve anyone now.If Pakistan has decency it should contribute to the development of A'stan instead of moaning against the refugees it actually owes a great debt,a debt which can never be repaid after they helped destroy their country and kill their families.

Funny how Pakistanis complain of the US but the evil their country did is 10 times worse.....
Stop your BS and provide authentic links for " Whole Pakistani Battalions" that you claim were fighting in Panjsher.

Read the link I gave you and stop screaming.Wikipedia and books written gave Pakistan diviisions participating in the civil war.And the Pakistani dead don't go against these theories

@nangyale The problem with Pakistan is that it doesn't know why it exists. You started as nation for muslims, that's your reason for existing but then you destroyed another muslim nation just because it had a pretext for 15% of your population to break apart. You have choose between being a nation or a wheel of the caliphate.

I think that by the late 80's it was clear that the Pashtunistan ideea had no significant followers in Pakistan so that phobia should have played no part in Pakistani meddling in A'stan. The fact that Pakistan supported the most opressive factions in A'stan stands...first Hekmatyar, than the talibans.
The "fact" is it was Afghanistan who first meddled in our affairs in 70's they always hated us they were the first country to oppose Pakistan's entry into UN.

This is what your link states:
From [Excised] to DIA Washington D.C., "IIR [Excised] Pakistan Involvement in Afghanistan," November 7, 1996, Confidential, 2 pp. [Excised]

Similar to the October 22, 1996 Intelligence Information Report (IIR), this IIR reiterates how "Pakistan's ISI is heavily involved in Afghanistan," but also details different roles various ISI officers play in Afghanistan. Stating that Pakistan uses sizable numbers of its Pashtun-based Frontier Corps in Taliban-run operations in Afghanistan, the document clarifies that, "these Frontier Corps elements are utilized in command and control; training; and when necessary - combat. Elements of Pakistan's regular army force are not used because the army is predominantly Punjabi, who have different features as compared to the Pashtun and other Afghan tribes."

According to the document, Pakistan's Frontier Corps provide some of the combat training in Kandahar or Herat provided to Pakistani madrassa students that come to Afghanistan to fight with the Taliban. The parents of these students apparently know nothing regarding their child's military involvement with the Taliban "until their bodies are brought back to Pakistan."

Nowhere in there it says Whole Pakistani Battalions fighting in Panjsher. Which is what you stated.
I am still waiting on you providing proof for that.
The rest is just your usual crap and trying to run away from the porkie that you said.

Not my favourite,he was a warlord....just that he was better than the rest of the lot,the lesser evil ,if you want. And,under his domain, women were'nt killed for adultery and they could go to school...etc,etc,

So what? Hikmetyar aka so called butcher of Kabul was also ok with all above mentioned things.. he is still part of Afghan current regime who allow women to work and go to schools.. so how massoud was better? bcoz he used to suck india?

Sry,not battalions...division level corps were involved in the 90's assisting the taliban.Thousands of Pakistanis fought and died along their taliban allies

. . . .
Pashtunistan ideea was dead from the 80's
Flamer you got to understand that this part of the world is riven with tribal, ethnic, sectarian divides that consume intense amount of energy and this has been going on for centuries. This is somewhat analogous to the Balkans. Often there is no line between bad guys and good guys. The wild, mountainous landscape adds further severity to harsh and tough environment.

However one of the most defining battles of the XX century was fought their between the two Cold War rivals. United States of America and USSR. It was the final consummation of the Great Game that had been brewing for over a century. The full resources of both superpowers including all their allied nations were sucked into this bloody ten year conflict. It invloved the most expensive and longest running US covert war aptly called Operation Cyclone.

Link > https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Cyclone

This is not the time to go into details but the salients points are:-

1. USA via CIA was lead in the Afghan Jihad - Read the book > The Bear Trap.
2. Islam was used for naked geopolitical advantage to destroy USSR.
3. The most virulent strains of Islam were distilled and spread for the specfic purpose of creating "Allah's Soldiers".
4. Madaris were established as policy to nurture crop of cannon fodder for the war.
5. Entire architecture of jihad was designed, built and consolidated by CIA.
6. Pakistan and Saudia Arabia were primary electives in this Russian jihad.
7. The force raised was called mo-jihad-een. The term 'jihad' entered Western lexicon.
8. Every part involved was in pursuit of self interest.
9. USA was to defeat USSR and bring down the Iron Curtain.
10. Pakistan was to gain weapons, gain time to build the atom bomb and gain funding.
11. KSA was to spread their Salafi version of Islam.

The Afghan Jihad was spectacularly succesful. For the West it would help to "bleed USSR" economically and politically bringing end to the Cold War. The Iron Curtain would come crashing down soon. Eastern Europe was freed. The Cold War which involved most the Western World living with having to destroy half the planet within minutes of Soviet attack, half of Eastern Europe under the jackboot of the Red Army came to a end. Living with Third World War and nuclear armageddon came to end.

What was the price for this. What was the collateral? Well I let the leading proponent of the jihad Zbigniew Brzezinski - US National Security Advisor say it:-

First. Did US create the conditions for Soviet invasiuon of Afghanistan?

Q: Despite this risk, you were an advocate of this covert action. But perhaps you yourself desired this Soviet entry into war and looked to provoke it?

B: It isn't quite that. We didn't push the Russians to intervene, but we knowingly increased the probability that they would.

Second. Any regrets for having created Islamic Frankenstien?

Q: And neither do you regret having supported the Islamic fundamentalism, having given arms and advice to future terrorists?

B: What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war.

All rest that happened is incidental to the main event - the Afgan Jihad. The rest was regional powers jokeying to come out on top. Most of it involved self interest like US had practiced on grand scale and used the same tools only at lower scale. Pakistan tended to support Pashtun groups simply because of the ethnic connection. Massood was not fan of Pakistan even in 1980s as Pakistan favoured Pashtun groups above his Tajiks.

And I met three of your countrymen today from Lutterworth. They bought my old car. Nice chaps all round including the buyers girlfriend.
