Saudi Arabia to Purchase Atleast Two Additional Squadrons of F-15 jets

Surely, having billions in form of oil money serves some luxury. I must say that Saudi Arabians are cash rich people. Silent eagles are bloody pricey and seriously demand a price for the level of technology they contain. But then again, didn't United States specifically target F-15 countries while planning on the Silent Eagle variants? Saudi Arabia is perhaps the biggest potential customer for the Silent eagles apart from Japan and Koreans are more focused on bringing their own indigenous fighter in the front.

The power of cash at its pinnacle.

i second that.

Moreover all of RSAF F 15's would be upgraded to higher standards plus 144 Eurofighters as a possible replacement for Tornados.

So currently about 200 Eagles and 144 EF equals a small but A$s kicking Airforce.

I thought the typhoons in the 1st order were limited to 72. It was a GB4.5 Billion contract if i am not wrong. 24 of them were the Tranche 2 series. The order was to be extended by 20 more planes. Did they double the previous order, or this is just a speculation? Its wierd, why would they need all that air power??

Guys, something off topic. I know that the UAE airforce relies on Pakistani pilots, but is it true for Saudi also?

hi.

UAE has a contract with over 200 PAF Pilots for Mirage 2000-9's and F-16 Block 60 Desert Falcon.

I know some Pilots Personally who are Serving there in UAEAF and some of those also will Fly Dassault Rafale and new air lifters .

PAF has a long history of "secret" presence in KSA and PAF Pilots do serve on Front Line Sqadrons of F-15E and Tornados .

Also there is a sheer number of PAF ground Crew and Radar & Controal room staff .

So Far the EF has not been flown by any PAF pilot i guess because they just have 1 jet by now.

But ACM Tanveer M Ahmad did fly EF in Britin during a visit to BAE systems & Rafale participated in an Excercise with PAF Mirages and A French Jounralist reported that French along with their state of the Art Rafale were Nailed by PAF Mirage Pilots in DF's.:D

One would wonder what would PAF get in return for this service , it is Experience and PAF can Aquire their Planes with PAF Pilots in Case of any war.

So 2 Squadrons each of Desert Falcons , F-15E , EF + PAF can Beat the Crap out of any Advanture .
Thanks.

They are receiving 72 EF's and I am 100% sure they will Buy another 72 on Option to Replace Tornados.

They are getting New Eagles and Upgrading previous ones to "S" standards and also they are a potential customer for F-35 beyond 2020.

They Need all of that Air Power for Defence and any Possible advanture from Israel.

repeated point

I think if we Come up with a lethal Thunder Block II & III it wont be hard to sale them to KSA to increase their Numarical supriority.

As Thunder gets better ie ws-13 engine , AESA Radar , Reduction in Weight through using more composite materials , Increasing Hard points , IFR , IRST , HMD , Nv HUD , Western Avionics Pack the number of its Customers will go beyond Azerbaijan and Egypt and that Could Include Gulf States too.

i remember saudis wanted to buy 100 F-16s but us refused long time ago because of Israel.

U.S. Press Speculation and Clinton Statement Threaten Saudi F-16 Buy
by Shawn L. Twing
Press speculation and public statements made by President Bill Clinton during Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s February visit to the United States postponed and may have undermined a potential $30 billion sale to Saudi Arabia of F-16 fighters and related weapons, training and hardware by Bethesda, MD-based defense giant Lockheed Martin.

I think for a long time JSF will not be offered or sold to Saudi Arabia not before israelis master those JSF. so Saudis are left with EF-2000 and F-15SE or If someone else offers them Stealth aside from russia so far no other nation has stealth fighter Jet.

Ineed this is a valuable Information Luftwaffe , BTW KSA is not Planning to Buy JSF anytime soon and it does not mean that they are not on offer.

I think if Silent Eagle turns out to be a great platform then KSA may buy that as they wont have to operate a new Platform.

JSF is not going to be Operational Before 2014-2015 and then its serial production will kick start.

Israeli participation is also in doubt as they run out of money for the program's whopping 100 million dollar plus per Unit Cost and US is refusing them to Integrate Israeli Avionics on JSF.

Thanks.

you are correct Black Blood..I do know americans have blundered in case of F-16 Sales they won't this time already they are snubbed with the purchase of EF-2000 from UK. but expect JSF to be offered after 2022+

no israelis are eager to buy JSF for the fact there is only Saudi Arabia in the Middle East with high tech fighter like EF-2000 that's alarming to them.

Tornadoes are going nowhere before 2020 they've been upgraded. F-5s are being replaced with EF-2000 and its is fairly possible next lot of 72 would be procured once first 72 arrives.

about F-16 read here..http://www.washington-report.org/backissues/0497/9704021.htm
