I would like to start by saying that I am committed to joining the Pakistan army as a soldier in the near future and I am qualified for all the basic requirements Alhamdulillah. I have some basic questions regarding the recruitment processes.

1. Firstly, I would like to know the times in the year where recruitment starts and applications can be submitted?

2. What is the process of sending an application from abroad?, considering if I have the ability to travel to Pakistan and apply directly, would it be preferable than applying from abroad?

3. Averagely how long after, if the application is accepted, will the call be given for tests and examinations?

4. If succesfully recruited, how long after will the service begin?

5. I studied in a school following the British curriculum and my grades consist of GCSE's and As exams which concludes at the 12th grade, and so I wanted to know how these grades will be translated compared to Pakistan's education curriculum.

6. I speak fluent Urdu with no accent and I am able to clearly understand it as well, but I do not know how to write and I struggle with reading and sometimes with general vocabulary issues. I'm also not that well acquainted with Pakistan studies since I studied in the UAE. I would like to know how these would affect me in the recruitment process since these are some of the topics stated in the examination subjects. Any advice would be appreciated.

7. And lastly, in the case that I am successful in being recruited and join the Pakistani army Insha'allah, I would like to know if permission can be given to travel out of Pakistan for leave since my family resides abroad.

I know that there's a lot of questions and I would rather have called the recruitment offices to ask all of these questions, but there seems to be an error of some kind preventing me from successfully calling them from the UAE. I've tried nearly all of the different numbers
from the different recruitment offices available but to no avail. I figured I would hopefully get some help from the forums.

I would greatly appreciate any and all help given regarding these questions :). Thank you for your time.

1. Firstly, I would like to know the times in the year where recruitment starts and applications can be submitted?
ISSB post add two to three times every year for Long Course plus two ads for short courses every year.
2. What is the process of sending an application from abroad?, considering if I have the ability to travel to Pakistan and apply directly, would it be preferable than applying from abroad?
After the ad you have to go recruitment center near to you to get yourself registered and after that they will give you time for initial test...same day they will announce result and in case of success you have to go for medical test.
3. Averagely how long after, if the application is accepted, will the call be given for tests and examinations?
After the success of initial test with in one month they will call you for ISSB test (4 days).
4. If succesfully recruited, how long after will the service begin?
After if you got success at ISSB they will ask you to report with in one month fixed date at Kakul.
5. I studied in a school following the British curriculum and my grades consist of GCSE's and As exams which concludes at the 12th grade, and so I wanted to know how these grades will be translated compared to Pakistan's education curriculum.
Your qualification must be equivalent to F.A / FSC at leat 50% marks.

No, not at all.

May be not sure.

Best of luck..

Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it and this helped a lot. I would like to further clarify. Averagely, when are the ads posted around the year? I've been hearing around April and October but I wanted to know for sure as I need to know the exact dates so I would be able to travel to apply. And also, for applying for a soldier, what course should I be applying for? To be honest, I'm not aware of the exact processes.

Aim of Inter Services Selection Board is to select potential officers for the defence forces of Pakistan who have

the requisite capabilities to successfully complete their course of training at the military academies and also

possess physical, mental, social and dynamic qualities to make successful leaders during peace and war.

For these tests, the candidates are divided into groups. The tests include:-

You want to apply for commissioned officer or just soldier?

Sorry couldn't reply earlier because I'm a new account. Insha'allah I want to apply for being a soldier, because I want to join the SSG in the future. I am confident in my abilities Alhamdulillah, but I just want as much information before I travel to Pakistan. It's because I grew up abroad and most of my family is also abroad, so I'd like to be as prepared as can be. If I'm missing anything, any information and tips would be appreciated.

Bro O just asking you....you wants apply for officer post starting from sec.lt or you wants to a soldier non-officer....both officers and soldiers can join SSG.

After you get a commission, you can apply for ex-Pakistan leave. Yes you can.

I prefer to be on field and I don't really want to pursue ranks and such. So yes I'm going for soldier. Can you tell me what the main differences are between officer and soldier? like what is the differences between the training and courses? Because If they both can join SSG, then what would be better in your opinion?

Color blind test is part of initial medical test and color blind will be screened out means you can't join any armed forces since colors is very important in armed forces from weapons to identification.

Sorry whoever said they don't check either they are lying or ignorant.

I don't want to break your heart but this is the sad reality.

I think that you'll be rejected in the final medical. You may pass the initial medical , since they don't check that much there. And I don't think that they'll allow any special glasses when they'll be checking that.
BTW I had a friend who did TCC , and he was color blind, I don't know how he got selected. Maybe pawa or maybe coz it was TCC.

In army initials medical, they didn't check color blindness, heck they didn't even check the ears ....I don't know what happens now but in those days that used to be the case.
