What's new

Sadiq Khan's temple visit pictures a hit online

Issue is not with Khan we all know he has good intentions but does he have the power? The nexus of building firms and the establishment is strong.

One man can't break the elite eton establishment, they will try to destroy him via scandals like they did in the campaign.

In a multi cultural and multi ethnic metropolis like London, the mayor will only succeed by persuing secular policies. UK like any other European country is largely secular. So why should it be a surprise or even hit the news?

I like this guy more and more. He is inclusive of all and shows compassion and care for everyone.. Characteristics of a humanist.. and a muslim.

He would make a great PM too. Give him a year or two and the goras would be eating out of his hand.

That is unlikely London is different to UK, plus he is Labour which has Jeremy corbyn one of the worse leaders I have seen

Khan should go for the Labour leader in the future but let's see how he performs as mayor first.

One big vote is in June to decide if UK shall remain inside the EU that is going to shape the political scene for the future.

 Beghairati ki bhi inteha hoti hai..
just wanted to know if he really did identify as an Indian.politicians can do anything for votes
I doubt it, he probably expressed fondness for India. Really, if India and Pakistan weren't such bitter rivals, they'd probably be best friends. Indians and Pakistanis tend to get along just fine over seas.

He's the mayor of London, which means he represents every Londoner, even those that voted against him. Why is this news?
lets not go into, what India n Pakistan wud have been if not bitter rivals.
but let me say this about overseas Indians N Pakistanis getting along well, being best buddies n all.its just north Indian thing.the love hate relationship between northIndians n former north Indians(pakistani punjabi, sindhi, muhajir,Kashmiri).
have u seen pashtuns cozying up wid Indians or northeast Indians/south Indians doing same wid Pakistanis,,,probably not.

I actually have, it's not that big of a deal. I guess it's a Canadian thing, because we tend to keep our politics at home, where it belongs.

Well, we need more people like him who can build bridges between people of different faiths.

if not exactly cozying up, similar language makes it easier to interact... a pakistani will find it easier to interact with north Indian than an north Indian with a tamil.. for example.
If you are first generation migrant, it helps to find people who are like you.. second generation onwards it does not matter..

A good humanist he probably is, a good Muslim he certainly is not.

A Good Muslim is very clearly defined in the books and hadith (the more credible ones). It is not open to change.

He has supported gay marriage, spoken of equality between religions and people among other things that a 'good Muslim' is not supposed to do.

you should be careful calling them ex-north Indian, with of food/culture or shared heritage etc. lol. Lets just focus on language aspect of it, rest dont matter much. :)

Totally agreed .
I have seen posts in the PDF that Indian politicians are using Pakistan name in election.
Yes but only in few north Indian states .NE ,South etc dont even care about them .

Pakistanis in Hindu temples doing idol worship. Pakistanis signing praise of Modi. Some atavistic element certainly at work here.

But please don't disown him just because he is liked by us :D

secretly you love all of us, you want to be like us, walk like us, talk like us, and make love like us (that will never happen)
