KATHMANDU: Nepal has once again underscored the need for creating a conducive regional environment for the SAARC Summit and said all member states should ensure that their respective territories are not used by terrorists for cross-border terrorism.

Issuing a statement on Sunday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Nepal strongly believes that an environment of peace and stability is essential regional cooperation. Nepal is the current chair of the regional organistion.

“To achieve peace and stability in the region, SAARC members states must, among others, ensure that their respective territories are not used by terrorists for cross border terrorism,” the statement read.

“Nepal unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and expresses its solidarity in the global fight against terrorism. Nepal has always condemned all acts of terrorism in our region.”

Pakistan was scheduled to host the 19th regional gala in November.

In the wake of the September 18 terrorist attack on an Indian army base in Uri of Indian Kashmir, India accused Pakistan of its involvement in the incident and promoting cross-border terrorism. With India and other countries announcing that they would not take part in it, Pakistan was forced to postpone the SAARC Summit.

In the statement, MoFA mentioned that Nepal has already condemned the terrorist attack on Indian army base in Uri also.

What is more, MoFA statement expressed Nepal’s readiness to initiate necessary consultation on successfully holding the Summit with the participation of all members states.

Of Course Nepal has not named any Nation.

It includes Nations which harbor Terrorists and use Terrorism as a tool of state policy :azn:
U mean India & Afg ?? Or the Indians backed LTTE ??

.
Those that don't harbour terrorists won't have a guilty conscience. Nepal didn't name names so calm down.

Resistance to foreign occupation and International Law

Dear Editor,

June 30, 2003

Acts of opposition to foreign occupation are justified under international law, just as the Palestinians fighting against the illegal Israeli military occupation of Palestine.

The struggle against illegal occupation by the people of a country using "all necessary means at their disposal" has been supported by several United Nations resolutions that reflect the overwhelming consent of the international community.

Resolution 2908 (1972) for example, which included this language, was adopted by 99 votes for, to 5 against, and 23 abstentions.

Perhaps most clearly United Nations' Resolution 2625 (24 October 1970), reflecting principles of customary international law, clearly states that people fighting against an illegal occupation "are entitled to seek and receive support."

Kashmiris' struggle against Indian occupation and Pakistan's support for them politically and militarily is legal under international law.

So long as they stay on the Pak side of the LC. They can do all their freedom fighting on that side.

On the other side they will be hunted & shot like the rats they are.

Who said they are coming from Pakistan? No one needs to import motivated freedom fighters from Pakistan when there is an active freedom movement going on within IOK for the last three months. And if Azad Kashmiris do go to fight against occupation they can do so because it is not illegal.

Kashmiris' struggle against Indian occupation and Pakistan's support for them politically and militarily is legal under international law.

According to this document "the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations" embraces the right of all peoples "freely to determine, without external interference, their political status and to pursue their economic, social and cultural development" as well as the duty of every State "to respect this right in accordance with the provisions of the Charter". It further added that "the establishment of a sovereign and independent State, the free association or integration with an independent State, or the emergence into any other political status freely determined by a people constitute modes of implementing the right of self-determination", thus stressing, as the critical issue, the methods of reaching the decision and not the result.

Pakistani Support is External Interference which is not allowed by the UN Resolution
