S-400 Requirement for India?

.
India (ChrisRev) - November 28, 2012 06:28 PM (GMT)
The Indian Ministry of Defence would like to approach Rosoboronexport to provide an initial 170 2S25 Sprut-SD vehicles with an option to domestically produce 580 in the future. We require that at least 30% of the initial order be produced in India, either in kit form or full production. We would provide payment ($765million) over the duration of delivery as set by yourselves as well as a one off payment of $261 million in the event of domestic production.

Furthermore, we would like to take delivery of four batteries of S-400 systems to provide long range air defence and a ballistic missile defence capability from our unpredictable and dangerous neighbours. We would again require that at least 30% of the production take place in India, though we would settle for this being the production of the vehicles and not the sensitive missiles themselves, however if Russia would be willing to permit a technology transfer on this system we would be very appreciative and would happily work with Russia to improve the system in the future in a process similar to the FGFA program.

Finally, we would like to place an order for 197 Ka-226 helicopters under the Light Utility Helicopter program. We would like to produce 100 of these in India under license and with full technology transfer if that is acceptable. We will provide payment (378.3million) over the duration of delivery for the 97 helicopters produced in Russia as well as a one off payment of $39million for license production of the 100 helicopters produced in India. We would prefer the final 25 aircraft produced in Russia be completed with Indian engineers and technicians present to learn the skills required and for 25 of the 100 be assembled from kits in India with Russian oversight and training.

INDIA
170x 2S25 Sprut-SD(30% production in India) - Approved 4Q2013
4x S-400 batteries(30% production in India) $1.6 billion - Approved(missiles & other sensitive components will be produced in Russia. However the option for joint development of an air-defence system is open.) 4Q2013
197x Ka-226 helicopters(97 in Russia/100 in India etc) - Approved3Q2013

Are we getting it?

My reading of this is that the order has NOT been placed. The Russian govt have olayed any such sale but that's about it. The GoI approached them and that's about it, maybe the GoI is just weighing up their options between different offerings both foreign and domestic.

The 197 LUH bit is the give away- no such order has been placed and, in fact, it looked as though the KA-226 had all but lost the LUH deal.

The GoI just seems to have sent out an RFI.

I could be wrong......

"To further bolster our ballistic missile defences we would like to order an urgent delivery of four S-500 batteries as well as additional missiles for our existing S-300 and S-400 batteries. We will pay the $2.5billion ($1.8b for S-500 and the remainder for additional missiles.) from our 2017 budget.

270 Russian surplus T-72 tanks with domestic upgrade rights to convert them to BMPT standard to be paid $400million from 2017 budget."

From the same forum.....

Canada (Zodiac)

"Representatives of the General assembly as your all aware weeks ago Pakistan tested a nuclear device in an above ground test in the Kashmir region. Resulting fall out has spread into India, China, across Pakistan and possibly Afghanistan as well. This is clearly a high level nuclear disaster displacing millions of people across the region. Canada calls upon the UN, and the UNSC to condemn the Pakistani test. We didn't tolerate it with North Korea, for should this be tolerated from Pakistan which will undoubtedly cause the deaths of thousands because of the fallout!"

Thailand (Rem)

"We will withhold our position until further research on the extent of damage can be assessed by the International Atomic Energy Agency and UN personnel. If Pakistan is fully cooperative with the UN regarding it's weapons program, then we can peacefully work out a resolution. We in Thailand understand the destructive power held within Nuclear Weapons and Arsenals, but can we really compare Pakistan with North Korea? Surely Pakistan will act within reason with it's new found power."

Pakistan (Reaper2707)

"Pakistan assures the assembly that we will cooperate with the UN as long as the request does not involve further break down of the Pakistani arsenal."

Canada (Zodiac)

"Canada asks Pakistan explain why it conducted a test with such blatant disregard for human safety, and within a disputed region between It self and India, something that could of easily sparked a conflict"

This is from a freaking role playing forum.

Has the Indian schooling system STOPPED TEACHING CRITICAL THINKING?

I have a hunch that we have lots of secret deals with Russia. Though it sounds like BS to me, but I know for a fact that India REJECTED S300 sometime back and will not go for S 400.

. .
S-400 won't be available for export until 2017 at the very least.

S-500:blink: the system is not even fully developed yet so how can we talk about export when Russia doesn't when have a fully working prototype, about the S-500 don't be surprised if it ends up like the F-22 which was never sold to anyone even in downgraded forum.
