I believe you were correct. In fact I started checking up the incidents in India against Russian tourists, and found that this was one incident where there was only robbery and not rape There was another report of the same incident that implied the Russian woman had been assaulted when she tried to resist the robbery. This report in the Times of India claims it was impersonation
What is curious is why such incidents happen mostly to Russians . Which is why I posted the links to other incidents which were mainly cases of rape, or claimed rape. Americans, British, and Europeans tourists have not reported such incidents. Perhaps with the least purchasing power Russians end up staying in the sleazy parts of the town so are more vulnerable.

A few other "white" tourists in India such as Australians have complained of being threatened as well, including the famous Vlogger Karl Rock. ( Link )

Whether Pakistan has tourists or not is not the subject here.

How Russian tourists are treated is not a "big deal" for us but it does have remote strategic implications.
Here is why as Pakistanis we are interested in following the attacks on Russian tourists.

We are curious why Russians, who are your staunchest allies in supplying crucial military hardware and technology should be treated this way . Russia has yet to issue an advisory but the Russian embassy has condemned attacks on its citizens like this rape of a nine year old in Goa ( Link ) .
There has been an anti-Indian backlash in Russia also

Means the suspects have been identified and apprehended or a hunt is on?

This is really very sad. God knows how the couple would have arranged the money for medical treatment.

Suspects are seldom apprehended and rarely convicted, regardless of which foreigners are killed.

Pakistanis ( mainly those with origins in India ) have been killed visiting relatives during communal riots that have broken out during their visit. Efforts by the Pakistani embassy to pursue investigations have never resulted in apprehending their killers Of course the most glaring example is the Samjhauta Express massacre where the killers went scott free and got elected as law makers to Parliament .
