Russia to deploy troops on Afghanistan-Tajikistan border

Yeah even I think till now it's purely a Russian decision and there's no news of India striking a deal with Russia or whatever. So pulling India in it in the current situation is not really necessary.

Nor will their ever be, India won't get involved in this militarily. They may give diplomatic support to the Russians and Tajiks, but that's about it.

Yeah right. India will never get involved direct militarily. Russia and America are super powers, they can do a lot of things which others can't afford.

Russia is not a superpower, but they have the potential to be in the near future.

Still, you're right, they both have capabilities that other nations just do not have.

What makes you think that India will be involved in this? This has nothing to do with India and is solely a Russian decision.

Actually, the problem with Nazi Germany wasn't a Russian-US alliance, it's that they opened an eastern front at a time when they could not afford to, this cost them the war. If the Nazis didn't invade Russia and turn them into enemies, I can tell you right now that the world would be a lot different today.

Opening an Eastern front was not an issue for a super power like Nazi Germany at that time. There were many blunders they committed( specially Hitler committed) during that invasion. That was the reason they were ultimately defeated but making the war the bloodiest in World History. Bdw lets not go more into this, else the thread will be hijacked. :)

Yeah you may say so, but ultimately they are just after US in the current world and yes have the potential to emerge as one very soon.

Just one last thing, the one more reason why the eastern front failed was that the Russians has the ability to cut of supply-chains and use the harsh weather and terrain to their advantage. Every single conqueror that has targeted Russia has had to deal with this issue, some more than others. The Nazis expected it to be an easy win, considering the Russians were poorly armed and trained and that lead to their downfall, especially since they had to start diverting their resources to the western front once again. Again, an eastern front was a stupid move.

Anyways, you're right, let's just end it here.
