What's new

Russia the new Byzantine empire assisting ethnic Roman / Byzantine Alawites and Christians in Aleppo

Why do you say that Russia is the new (Eastern) Roman Empire?

So Ar Rum still exists in the modern world! Then Muslims should make common cause with them. No?

Do u think license to support ur favourite group is only for western. And other countries. So why not. Iran and Russia support their favorite group in Syria

Just being Orthodox and some vague marriage in history does not make you the successor of Rome.

Byzantine Empire was much more than just Orthodoxy and its Caesaropapism. What makes the Roman Empire is not its religion, but its governing institutions. laws and bareucracy, which was evlolved during the reforms of Justinian and died out with Latin sack of Constantinople in 1204.
