russia tests extremely fast missile interceptor for destroying hypersonic missiles

.
the missile of interceptor is 5 times faster than machine gun bullet

.
Russian television showed a one-minute video of a rocket launch, said to be from the Sary-Shagan test site in Kazakhstan. The video shows a canister—presumably with the missile inside—being transported on a flatbed truck, and then lowered into a pit. The launch, shot from multiple camera angles, shows a rocket rising from a silo so fast that the only thing that can be seen is a streak of flame and a rust-colored cloud of smoke.

The missile was not identified, with the Ministry of Defense only saying that “the anti-ballistic missile system is in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces. It is designed to protect Moscow from air and space attacks.”

Most likely, it was the PRS-1M. A laudatory 2018 article in Russian news site Gazeta.ru describes it as being part of the A-135 short-range missile defense system. The article refers to the 2017 test of a new missile—an upgrade of the older T6 interceptor—with a detachable rocket-steered warhead.

“In the past, the T6 flew several times faster than a bullet and gained a speed of more than 3 kilometers (1.86 miles) per second in a matter of seconds, being the fastest missile in the world. In the modernized version, its speed was close to four kilometers (2.5 miles) per second.” Gazeta also suggested the PRS-1M could withstand 300 G of force at launch, compared to 200 G for the previous anti-missile interceptor and just 9 G for the old SA-2 anti-aircraft missile.

“In the new product, the height and range of the kill zone increased almost one and a half times,” Gazeta.ru said. “Now the interception of the warheads of the enemy’s intercontinental ballistic missiles is confidently carried out at a height of much more than 50 kilometers (31 miles).”

I must be missing something here. This video lists the top five ICBMs in the world and their speeds are more than 5 kms/second. So how can this new ABM missile be the fastest ??

.
apparently seeing from video it appears very fastest than other missile launched ever in history and missile is invisible due to high speed just like bullet which is invisible in daylight and only smoke of missile is visible

u.s missile interceptor missile is visible as it has low speed

American Sprint (hypersonic) experimental ABM design

From 0 to MACH 10 in 5 seconds. :)

That was 1960s era tech.

American THAAD (hypersonic) BMDS

Faster than even Sprint. ;)

And unlike Russia, Americans provide 'evidence' of actual intercepts. :agree:

GMD class interceptors are designed to defeat ICBM in 'midcourse phase', as far away from American mainland as possible. No BMD system in the world is even close to providing matching level of intercept possibilities accordingly.

They are not slow; they are as fast as modern ICBM in the boost phase, and each will release an EKV while in space which is MACH 26+ rated in sheer speed (faster than any interceptor by a long shot). Those launch shots are taken from hundreds of KM away, therefore, anything will look slow from so far away.

Russian fixed BMD system in Moscow will try defeat ICBM in 'terminal phase', therefore, it is Sprint-type design.

U.s missiles are slower as they are visible when launched but russian is so fast that only smoke is visible and one cannot determine where missile has gone.I think russian one is far superior

Dude, do you know anything about cameras? There are cameras which can obtain a lock on any moving object, but these are very expensive.

You can clearly see the launch at 0:35 - 0:37 mark (distance shot), better camera.

From 0 - 9 MACH in 3 seconds.

American 1960s era SPRINT = from 0 - 10 MACH in 5 seconds. American THAAD is even faster.

Even in slow mode interceptor cannot be seen due to high speed.Thaad is much slower at boost stage

High quality footage of this test.

Satisfied now?

You cannot clearly see THAAD at launch stage either.

However, a powerful camera will show you launch of any missile. And Americans normally use cameras which show interceptors in motion (slow motion in fact).

This video is of s400 as tragectory in one launch is different and also flag is not visible.russian missile defenses are competing u.s that is why u.s threatens any country buying s400 with sanctions .u.s fear explains capability of russian missile defence system
