The military cooperation agreement signed this week between Pakistan and Russia will allow Moscow to strengthen its arms exports in the region.
The agreement comes months after Russia was demoted to second place by the US as India’s largest weapons supplier. Since losing out on a number of helicopter contracts in India, Russia in June lifted its embargo on arms supplies to Pakistan and is expected to nab a contract to supply 35 MI-35 helicopters. A move that has already brought backlash from the Indian government, expressing its concern over any possible helicopter deal.
“Both sides will translate this relationship in tangible terms and further strengthen military-to-military relations,” said Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif without elaborating on the agreement.
Pakistan has traditionally sourced its weapons and aircraft from China, which has only made selective investments in the country. The pact with Russia will give Pakistan access to direct weapons sales without solely relying on China.

Poor article and few mistakes
  1. There were never embargo against Pakistan, but they didn't give clearance certificate
  2. Pakistan traditionally source of weapons purchase is US, UK, France and China. US have largest market share.
  3. Russian revisit to Pakistan is because of Indian worm welcome toward US (Mr. Obama is chief guest in Indian republic day) and this part is not mentioned in this article.

I think (may be i am to early but) we are witnessing Pakistan-China-Russia alliance and this factor is also possible because of India shifting toward US.

. .
We are potentially talking about Millions and Billions worth between Russia-Pakistan !!!

If you had money, you wouldn't talk about Russian or Chinese weapons in the first place..

.
.
Don't worry about money. Pakistan has enough money, It will buy what it wants to may it be PAK FC-31 Stealth jets or Haider Tanks, or MI-35 Helicopters.

Pakistan doesnot make it FREE, it costs Pakistani Money and alot of it, so ur baseless comment of no money has no grounds : Pakistan has world’s fastest growing nuclear programme: US think tank

What I meant is , if u had money , u would have gone for western weapons.. Like in the past.
Won't be searching for affordable alternatives..

Now we are trying to manufacture in house and we have reached middle level technolgy in our own and now we are working with the help of China in high end product and in 15 to 20 years you will see many new things made in Pakistan and that is why we stick with China

It's extremely complex, you could modify the aircraft like the Israel do..
That ll be good for the starters..

Btw when you have intermediate range missile, launching satellites should have been easy, why are you not doing it..
It is less risk approach than aircraft designing ..

With Chinese , your industry is not gonna make even a single nut or bolt in future
Since they will be able to give you cheapest product to your market.
Why will you struggle hard to make a product that is costlier than cheap Chinese product?

Chinese will set your industry to bag their contracts, but you ll have to compete with them, which will be impossible.

my question is
are
India is not situated in this region ??? (keep in your mind that the India is larger Russian arms market in the world )

you are quoting
Pakistan and is expected to nab a contract to supply 35 MI-35 helicopters.
originally Pakistan is buying 20 MI-35 helicopters instead of 35
