Russia in the case of sanctions by the United States will be forced to go into other currencies, create a cash-payment system, said Tuesday in an interview with RIA Novosti Presidential Aide Sergei Glazyev.

"We will have to go into other currencies, create a cash-payment system. We have excellent trade relations with our partners in the East and the South, and we will find a way to not only zeroed our financial dependence on the U.S., but will come out of these sanctions with great advantage for themselves, "- said the eye.

AFP: Russia warns could 'reduce to zero' economic dependency on US

Putin is calling Obama's bluff :sarcastic:

Any reason the Kremlin is issuing threats through an "aide"?

Unfortunately for Russia, any "collapse" of the US system would not only mean they had collapsed yet again, but it would also hurt their Chinese friends.

All of this sanction talk will go away as long as the tanks do start moving further West. At that point all bets would be off the table.

The US truly does not care if Russia annexes their historical land known as Crimea, that would vote to join Russia if they were given a chance. The point is to put up enough stink to let Pooty-poot know that the world is serious about Kiev, but worried more about an attempt to occupy certain other States further West.

Hahahahahaha:haha:, you called Putin a "Pooty-poot". :omghaha:

Can't help but feel sorry for the Ukrainians, though.:undecided:

USA wont do that. Not a chance. Not that it is afraid, but its not feasable, and the odds between US and Russia is too important to part it away for Ukraine, where half of the population support Russia anyway.
Wish India had this kinda steel.

putin is smart he is playing his moves very cleverly

Putin is 100% cold-war KGB, obviously very intelligent in those type of matters, but probably relying heavily on educated war advisers, as any non-military leader does/should.

Unfortunately it seems he is too ingrained with the idea that the US is somehow trying to pre-emptively strike all of Eurasia as soon as the Bear's guard is down, which couldnt be further then the truth.

But if I was given a chance to have a drink with and listen to stories from one major world figure, it would without a doubt be Vlady. He has seen/been a part of some crazy stuff I am sure.

Hahahahahaha:haha:, you called Putin a "Pooty-poot".

That is a reference to a nickname that one of the United States' more..."special" Presidents gave to Putin after spending a weekend together at a Texas ranch. It is my favorite nickname, since it at the same time takes a jab at Putin as well as Bush for being a grown man when he coined the term.

The last thing the EU would dare would be to commit economic suiside and sanction the Ruskis. In that case I'll not only see a cold winter coming but our economy jumping from the highest skyscraper in Frankfurt.

Same here brah, we have been craving for some good economic news that would lighten up the mood at the AEX so that people would FINALLY albeit CAREFULLY begin to spend and invest money again into the economy, and we have been able to do so. The AEX, however, already had to chip in again these weeks when oil prices began to rise again well over the 100 USD a barrel due to the developments in the Crimea. Any further escalation, and we're back to where we were in 2008 :suicide:
