Ukraine will not pay for Russian gas which Russia will supply to the territories of self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic (DPR, LPR), Energy and Coal Industry Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn has said.
"We have no need to pay for gas we do not supply," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.
He said that Ukraine supplies gas to DPR and LPR, however Russia has not agreed to the independent supply of gas to these areas with Ukrainian authorities.

Agreement between Naftogaz and Gazprom will set prices at USD 248 for second quarter
Ukraine's state energy firm Naftogaz has signed an agreement with Russia's Gazprom that will extend a discount on gas sales to Ukraine. Prices will be set at USD 248 per 1,000 square metres of gas through the second quarter of this year.
Gazprom earlier this week proposed extending Ukraine's discount on gas for three months as a deal between the two countries was set to expire.
Russia cut supplies to Ukraine in June of last year and demanded immediate payments as relations between Kyiv and Moscow soured following Russia's annexation of Crimea and its involvement in the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine. A deal in October allowed gas supplies to resume for the winter and gave Ukraine a temporary discount.
Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolev had complained that Ukraine pays too much for gas compared to the European Union.

Gas discount is given under Ukrainian obligation to pay all existent debt to Gazprom(over 2 billion USD -the same debt Ukraine while BS talking threatened to sue Gazprom earlier,the same debt all Western MSM and politicians earlier have said is non-existent,it is based on Gazprom abused and free interpretation of earlier signed contract under another one of Western darlings-Y.Timoshenko).But of course such "unimportant" detail is not receiving much attention.
