I would only guess that Iran will buy Good quality Russian arms for its regular army (badly needed). hopefully the order is for hundreds of helicopters and tanks, with various vehicles and small arms. Also it would be nice to see some new artillery.

The t-90ms is good tank for Iran to be hinest, it's fast and powerful and has a long arm. it would well for defendomg Iran's bord.

This might a bit of a conjecture,

although the post cold war t-90 might be good for iran , combat wise , because of all the imported technology that is added to the soviet t-90 ; iran might be itching for their armenia tank , because it resembles Merkava the most , it's like owning a BMW or Mercedes Benz , only if you catch my drift though ..

Yep even though it's seems like Ur own program Russians have their great share of help in upgrading Ur armed forces for a long time. You gave them US drone technology they gave you their help building one. Russians help to India and Iran cannot Nə measured with small yard stick. I will tell you in future Iran and India will attack a same enemy with similar weapons from tanks to fighters from Russians.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — In October, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei told Sputnik in an interview that Tehran was looking for ways to broaden the scope of defense cooperation with Moscow, even in areas that require coordination with the UN Security Council (UNSC) and need a resolution.

"It is true that the Iranians have a wide range of military-purpose products they would like to purchase in Russia. Naturally, some of these products — tanks and fighter jets — are covered by the UNSC sanctions, because there is a moratorium. It means that if we sign an agreement on the delivery of such products, we have to apply for the UNSC permission in the next five, or rather, the next four years and receive such permission," Zamir Kabulov told RIA Novosti, commenting Sanaei's statement.

He added that Moscow was ready to work with Iran in the area of military and technical cooperation. "There are other goods from the sphere of military and technical cooperation that are not subject [to the UNSC decisions]. There are no problems, but here we should act via the UNSC mechanism, unfortunately," the diplomat said. Russia-Delivered S-300 Systems to Enter Combat Duty in Iran by Year-End All S-300 air defense systems supplied to Iran by Russia will enter combat duty by the end of the year, Kabulov added. "The supplies of S-300 systems to Iran have been halted because of sanctions. They are now completed, and by the end of the year all the systems that we have delivered will enter combat duty," Ozerov told reporters on a visit to Iran.

Unfortunately the russians in their previous dealings with iran have proven themselves to be and this is putting it rather mildly quite,quite unreliable and untrustworthy in the extreme,one only has to look at the s300 debacle or the bushehr reactor to see this.Russia sadly has used iran as just a bargaining chip with the west in the past,now it is possible that with russian-western relations in the deep freeze and russia needing all the friends it can get then it might be more willing to play ball with iran,sadly tho rouhani and co seem more interested in trying to cozy up to the west than to try and take advantage of this,I mean ffs zarif didnt even bother to get the un arms embargo lifted as part of the jcpoa so russia cant even sell things like su30s and t90s to iran for another 3 years at least and a lot can happen in that space of time.Personally I ll believe the stories about t90s/su30s when I see the russians actually deliver them to iran,until then its just more bullsh!t.
