Big orders are one thing but HAL needs to make sure they ramp up their production capacity so such orders don't take a decade or more to be completed. Right now only 30 ALH are being produced a year, if the IA and IAF (maybe even IN) opt for the Rudra in larger numbers the ALH's production will become even more limited.

To be fair to HAL, they have set up new production facilties for the LCH and recently began work on a new line purely for LUHs that (they claim) will be able to produce 60 LUHs a year. Hopefully they can produce 30 LCH a year within 2 years of the bird going into full scale production- that would swell up the ranks very nicely indeed, a lot of the time HAL takes too long to get mass production up and running (but they are getting better) but once they get into their stride they are very good.

I totally agree with you. But very optimistic about our new government. The government which understand national foreign exchange more that the later (Sonia and papu) .

Its time we make big cash out of our available defence technologies and investing more on defence manufacturing sector is the way ahead.
