DCI training honors the 2007 batch of Saudi Arabian cadets

Brest (France), July 6th, 2012 -
Thursday 5 of July, on the Brest Naval Instruction Center parade ground, a ceremony was held for the promotion to the first officer's rank of Royal Saudi Naval Force cadets from the SAGEMA 2007 batch.

This military ceremony, placed under the presidency of Vice-Admiral Jean-Pierre LABONNE, commanding the Atlantic maritime area, was the occasion to award the trainees their officers' epaulettes.

SAGEMA (Saudi Grandes Ecoles Marine) training that is entrusted to DCI-NAVFCO is a program intended to train future Saudi Arabian naval engineering officers. It lasts for seven years in France and is divided into three phases:

- Phase 1: French language courses and scientific refresher course at the Cherbourg Store Keepers School, duration 2 years.

- Phase 2: Technical training at IUT Brest. Preparation phase for admittance to engineering schools, duration 2 years.

- Phase 3: Engineering training at the Naval Academy or ENSTA Bretagne, ENSICA Toulouse, Ecole polytechnique, Télécom Bretagne, duration 3 years.

Les épaulettes pour les cadets saoudiens formés par DCI à Brest

Le jeudi 5 juillet, sur la place d’armes du Centre d’Instruction Navale de Brest, s’est tenue la cérémonie de passage au grade d’officier de dix cadets des Forces navales du royaume d’Arabie Saoudite de la promotion SAGEMA 2007. C'est la 2e promotion saoudiene qui est diplômée au terme de son cursus de 7 ans; actuellement, 85 cadets saoudiens suivent la formation dispensée par DCI-NAVFCO.

La formation SAGEMA (Saudi Grandes Ecoles Marine), est un programme destiné à former les futurs officiers ingénieurs navals saoudiens. Cette formation se décompose en trois phases :

- Phase 1 : Apprentissage du français et mise au niveau scientifique à L’Ecole des Fourriers de Cherbourg, durée 2 ans.

- Phase 2 : Formation technique à l’IUT de Brest. Phase préparatoire à l’entrée en école d’ingénieurs, durée 2 ans.

- Phase 3 : Formation d’ingénieurs à l’Ecole Navale ou à l’ENSTA Bretagne, à l’ENSICA de Toulouse, à l’Ecole polytechnique, à Télécom Bretagne, durée 3 ans.

i have said it many times if the saudi are going for submarine the french scorpion is the choice.
