Robert Vadra may soon have to stand in airport queue
NEW DELHI: Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's controversial son-in-law Robert Vadra may soon be seen standing in airport queues to be frisked like any other private individual.
The aviation ministry has written to the Union home ministry to expeditiously decide on the issue of exempting people not holding any constitutional position from frisking at airports. "There are only two such names — the Dalai Lama and Vadra. The Dalai Lama is a revered religious figure and head of a government in exile. His Holiness's continuance on that exempt list is understandable. But the other name (Vadra) should not be in that list," said an official.
The aviation ministry had written to MHA some months back to on the issue but has got no response. Now it has sent a reminder, nudging MHA to decide soon.
