RJAF F-16s and USAF F/A-18sscramble compitition

. . . .
I loved these contests when I was active duty and we had them even when I was on the F-111. So many things that could f-cked up a team. Often, it is good enough to make it to End Of Runway ( EOR ).

At EOR, there would be a contest inspector with the EOR crew to check if the jet is cleared for T/O. Sometimes, a flightline crew would miss a safe pin on a pylon or a quick access panel had its latch failed to secure and the jet would be disqualified at EOR. That was a major bummer when called over the radio.

1 minute to be airborne, after the alarm goes is the requirement for the "alert" rotte.

Yeah well, stop showing off you swede. We know you guys had nothing better to do than practice ADA alerts and dispersal techniques while pretending to be neutral.

My favourite story is about a pilot which was criticized for being slow.
Next alert, he turned on the afterburner inside the hangar burning a hole
in the back, and took off on the taxi strip.
