ISLAMABAD: An agreement has been signed between the Riphah International University (RIU) and a Singaporean company for designing a new campus of the university in Islamabad.
RIU Pro Chancellor Muhammad Hasan Khan and Singaporean company CPG Chief Medical Planning Architect Martan L de Castro signed the agreement.
The new campus will be built on 1.2 million square feet to accommodate about 10,000 students. It will include a 600-bed hospital, a medical college, a dental college and about 70 departments of seven faculties. According to a press release, it will be a full-fledged state-of-the-art ‘Education City’ with allied facilities of a gymnasium, sports grounds, swimming pool, community development centre and an NGO resource centre. Its master plan has been designed by a consortium of four Pakistani and foreign companies of international repute.
The construction will start in April next year and is likely to be completed within two years.
