Discussing 'Buddhism & Violence' in a recent episode of the BBC Radio 4 program 'Beyond Belief', academics and human rights activists discussed the nature of Buddhist violence, including the texts used the justify war in the defence of Buddhism, in Sri Lanka and Burma. anyway, in eastern philosophy and dharmic ideology, these old stories don't hold anywhere near the same significance as they do with the Abrahamists, Islamists in particular... we can still be Buddhist or practice our Sanatan dharm and not believe or care about these stories.
I know this concept is way beyond your visible mental range but that's just how it is..
