Never heard of patri kebab bro.
Next to tariq road a friend took me for breakfast of Lachedar paratha , the small chai wala was still going strong at 12 pm
Really liked the paratha it was the size of top side of can of coke , but thick like 2 inches and lachedar like patessa - the sweet.

Apart from student baryani and food centre baryani there is a baryani shop at pakistan chowk which is actually quite good , the also serve ban kebab

Steak at jasons at schon centre or a cheap version at kbc at saddar near star is excellent .
I usually go at kbc coz its convenient and really nice

Any more good joints to eat or even thapar wala hotel where the daal might b out of this world.
Plz share what u like with the rest

Yaar i think they should rename the restaurants which have indian names. Its time u build yr own identity for yrself in Karachi not just as Mahajir community but as a Proper mainstream Pakistanis.

Idea sounds stupid to me. How about you opening a new shop and establishing your own brand rather than asking the older and established ones to change the name ?

Do not be smart. I saw myself. Some are worse. Please read the local newspapers. You can find the press release from Food department. Survey and what not. Do not paint a nice picture of food in USA.

@ghazi52 I fee like I should invite you to Peshawar ...You need to check Namkeen Mutton Karahi at Shinwari ...and buffet dinner at Sheraz ....the taste they offer will take you straight to paradise man !

Have you tried kebabs and fish at Taru Jaba near Pabi?

Namak mandi and charsi kebab are also good!


But if you guys want the real meaty stuff... It's quetta --- meat+fat = awesome!

Besides, this thread is about restaurants in Karachi. If it is indeed the view to promote tourism, as this section purports to be about, then addressing any concerns of potential visitors, such as those I have highlighted, would be important, don't you think?

Strange I mentioned Al Asif as well and you only noticed Shah Faisal. Anyways its that bad as it is perceived.

The pathan's chapli kebab dhabas in Shah Faisal are legendary and everyone in Karachi knows that. I used to go there all the time when i was in high school....sometimes be venturing there at 10 in the night. The problem is, today it is no longer safe to go there. There is a very high chance that you will be mugged on the way there. That's how sad things are. I think twice venturing into Burnes road even.

The mugging in Karachi is quite limited now a days so dont worry about it now a days and if you are using Vehicle then you dont need to worry about anything Walking your way to that area especially after 9PM was problematic though but today its almost Fine now.
