Defence Communication Network
Defence Communication Network (DCN), country’s first Integrated Defence Network has been implemented and inaugurated on 30th June, 2016. The network interconnects major strategic and operational establishments of the Defence Forces.
DCN will facilitate situational awareness and faster decision making amongst Defence Forces. The network provides voice, video and data services, enabling information sharing, speedier response and enhanced decision making. DCN has been provided with adequate bandwidth as per the technical and operational requirement to integrate state of the art communication equipment working on Internet Protocol based technology.
This information was given by Minister of State for Defence Dr. Subhash Bhamre in a written reply to Shri C Mahendran in Lok Sabha today.
