Remote Controlled Scaled Aircraft Crashes at Air Force Station Jaisalmer

A remote controlled scaled aircraft model of the Indian Air Force crashed just outside the boundary of Air Force Station Jaisalmer on the afternoon of 16 July 2015 due to engine failure. There was no damage to life or property and no injury on ground.

Jaisalmer: An unmanned aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) today crashed near the Jaisalmer airbase after engine failure but there was no collateral damage on the ground.

"A pilot less remote controlled scaled aircraft model crashed at around 1 pm today due to engine failure," Defence Spokesperson Lt Col Manish Ojha said today.

The model, which was being used for training purpose, took off from the airbase and developed problem in its engine leading to the fatal consequence.

Air Force officers rushed to the spot and have begun an investigation.

"Air Force officials are at the spot for carrying out their probe," the official said.

There was no damage to civil property and human life as the unmanned aircraft fell on the open land.

It was an open field where the model crashed and no loss to life or property occurred, SHO local police station Jetharam said.
