Rehman Malik not allowed to enter GHQ

Because this is not what bothers an average Pakistanis. Respect is earned and the politicians are doing nothing to earn that respect. If there comes a democratic government that would solve the everyday problems of Pakistanis and would give them the due respect, than you will see that people will reciprocate accordingly. I can not speak for many but I myself am a staunchest supporter of the democracy. However, the way Zardari government has performed so far, I don’t want to see him in power for even one more day. I and many Pakistanis may tolerate a corrupt government as we all are corrupt at some level, but a President and or his cabinet started looking like a security risk for the country is intolerable.

Somewhere here in this approach / attitude lies the problem.

Disrespect for national institutions has been ' institutionalized' by dictators who have disobeyed the law of the land & Military law by overthrowing Govts yet expected adherence to the law & their authority from those below them in the chain of command.

Assuming for a while that the incident was not a misunderstanding in terms of timing etc, the fact that a national minister was disrespected shows the orgnisation in poor light.

As far as being elected or nominated. It does not matter so long as the constitution of the nation allows it. How credible was Mush's ' election' / conversion to Presidency ?

Lastly, respecting anyone has never hurt. There are other ways to show dissent.

Like AM pointed out, you're jumping the gun with this. Its likely that the way you're interpreting events didn't happen. You'd have motivated individuals who'd like nothing more than to harp on something like this, but Malik did point out that this is not the case and he chastised reporters for their incorrect reporting.

Well, if he is not elected and is unlikely to get elected then it would be inaccurate to say that he is. Protocol aside, designating him an elected representative would be a fundamental misconception.

I dont know why Pakistanis are not fighting against this. How can civilian leader - a leader elected by the people of Pakistan not allowed to enter? Who runs the country - army or politicians? If this is democratic rule, what is army rule then?

:) wow more masala by media and you are adding your own spices.

Read the News again, He Did enter the GGGG HHH QQ

The only fuss is he wanted VVI P protocol means he wanted that COAS Gen Kiyani should recieve him.

Now thats cheap. And more cheapiest stint by him would have been addressing a press conference within GHQ just for his rubish statements.

Well sorry that is not at all appropriate.

Please do hold press conference but where it to be held and that is Press Club or your interior ministery building.

And oh BTW he is not at all an elected leader he is selected and designated due to certain reasons by his empolyers

Love me love my dog:lol:

He was representative and selected person of Zardari , GHQ inchrage should salute him .

Zardari dont like mistakes , GHQ incharge should be care full in future:D

Muslims have a history of treating their corrupt and oppressive leaders with utmost disgust. This is nothing new. Back in the days when traitors or informants in muslim communities were caught spying for some1, they weren't allowed to be buried in public muslim graveyards because that was considered an insult to even the dead. The corrupt/tyrant rulers were bared from entering Khanqas. There's a famous story of Mughal Emperor Akbar who was made to wait with his viziers at the shoe stand of a famous Sufi Saint's khanqa, afterall he needed his consultation to save his kingdom so he ended up begging the Saint.

If GHQ was under my authority, I would not even have let this ****** man get near the grave of the self-less son of the soil who gave away his life for our future,so you want this nefariously corrupt leader who sold the blood of his countrymen for a few temporary monetary gains pay regards to shaheeds graves with flowers?

Neither Malik is elected nor his godfather Zardari, they' been promoted to their position through very complicated designs. The judiciary wasn't free when Zardari came to power, so how can anyone that believes in true democratic values and justice can legitimize Zardari's govn't?

Rehman Malik is the same guy who created the mess of notification of putting ISI under the control of his ministry, making himself the most powerful person in Pakistan with IB & ISI both under him, but alas it backfired miserably. Plus his many other adventures as posted & told in above posts make him deserve such treatment. The recent Kerry Lugar Bill & the attitude of the govt on it, including Rehman Malik has added fuel to the fire already burning. Rehman Malik being the interior minister should have not backed it as for him the security & sovereignty of Pakistan should have been first then his political master.

His history is well known to all of us, he is the right hand of Zardari, whose image is of no pro-pakistani rather an anti-pakistani, so they both should be treated the same.

Just for an example, our defence minister once said to a question about the capability of PAF to shoot down drones, he said we don't have the capability to track them or even shoot them down, which was categorically rejected by the PAF Chief the very next day. So if such arse holes undermine the military then why do you guys expect respect to be given to them by military or even by the general public.

He should not have been even let entered into GHQ, protocol left aside.

Lets face it, if Benazir was still alive, folks like Rahman Malik, Farooq Naek, Salman Taseer, Khosa, Kaira and many other such stooges were only polishing the shoes of Zardari far far away from the cabinet room. During the time of BB, these folks along with their 'prince' were not even allowed in the party meetings.

Besides, Malik is only an Interior Minister not the Minister of Defense. I do not think he should be receiving salutes from the folks who don’t even come under his ministry.

At any rate, it was just a publicity stunt; he wanted a photograph of himself placing a wreath at the Yadgar-i-Shohada, which he eventually got. Otherwise, how much he and people like him feel for the patriots is anybody’s guess.

That Rehman Malik used to be in FIA as ASI and used to take Nabeel Gabool (MNA) to the cinemas he was like secretary of Nabeel Gabool's father and now look the grace of GOD he is a senator... GHQ did the right thing not giving that protocol.

Listen guys, i do not like Rehman Malik and as much as i would like to enjoy (being a flawed human) seeing him insulted, the military did no such thing.
This is another spicy one from the media against someone who is not popular, both due to his incompetency and due to the nature of the problems surrounding us.
Why do you think so many brave members of our cabinet did not want to become interior minister?
It is a most difficult time and no body showed the guts to take this job...not saying that Rehman Malik was right for the job but then everybody is shirking responsibility these days...

The current opposition chose to side with Zardari against Musharraf, now they claim principles and parted ways from the government.
I mean everybody knew the things like NRO etc. would not dissolve overnight, the PML-N could have been part of the government and still worked on revoking NRO etc. but they chose to become spectators, because it is more convenient in these tough times.
They could have been part of coalition and could have worked to ensure that the key ministries entrusted to PML-N became so good that the nation had no more doubts about their sincerity...they could have been more influential in government decisions regarding all the matters since they were given finance ministry ...yet they chose to give up all of this so that any blame of failure rests on PPP...they conveniently forgot that we had a good economic run with Musharraf and it was all these parties which raised hue and cry and rallied together to oust Musharraf and end his tenure...they cited the situation as unacceptable for national security and unity...has it become all better?
I may sound too idealistic but did the situation not merit that the two major parties remain allied and in government, if only to guide the nation out of troubled waters?
When all the people abandon their posts, then the one who stands for whatever reason is not entirely to blame...blame is shared by the deserters as well...

GHQ has recently suffered a terrorist attack and at the same time the military high command has initiated another most difficult offensive in Waziristan, do you think the military planners have time to actually attend a press conference with Mr. Rehman Malik?
They sent him an escort of a 1 star general and he got to lay the wreaths at the site marking the martyrdom of our brave soldiers, laying flowers on the grave of a martyr is the intent since it is in itself an honor to pay your respect to those who take a bullet for your country.

Most of the time our media is hellbent on creating a political imbalance by being critical of government alone, maybe the media is being urged on by our opposition parties in this which is quite sad to see.
I would like to see our media also openly criticize the impotent behavior shown by our opposition in face of the crisis we face.
What nation building role are these opposition parties playing?

At a time which is critical in our history i see an attitude where many influential politicians are not playing their role because they are in opposition, how easy it is to be in opposition at this time...
Yesterday one great political hypocrite Khwaja Saad Rafiq of PML-N gave a beautiful statement that the country can be run without any loans, what a purely nonsense statement...did PML-N not put the country under severe economic crisis in past?
Did they not take heavy loans from all and sundry?
I voted for these guys and gave them money for their grand scheme of paying off Pakistan's debt, they failed to do so and the money really vanished...so many Pakistani's gave a lot of money and yet what happened?

It is not like anybody has a clean record so we should be 100% objective in our criticism, we may not like the government but we have to acknowledge that it has very little in way of options...
No body has stopped the nation of protesting if it does not like any of the government's policies, we did get the CJ restored...we do posses power if we think we need to exercise it.

I do not like Rehman Malik and want him removed, if the same is felt by all and opposition, it is time they protest. This is allowed in democracy and should be exercised.

Right now the government represents Pakistan and believe me it pains me to see some of those in this current government... but the fact is that it is an elected government, next time vote for someone else...if the process is repeated for 2 decades we shall have some form of order...

The Army has really been professional and has been strictly following its scope of work in past few years, this is something very good and we should hope this remains so.

In my company President is not authorized to enter certain areas, when he need to then he ask for permission, while small clerks can enter that area without any restrictions since he has the job to do.. I don't know what a big deal, he wasn't authorized to enter GHQ, this is why they didn't let to.. if he need then he need to take permission, and give the reason to enter.. Simple and straight...

Haha... helarious, that's what you get when you jump to conclusions.

Sir,

That has nothing to do with entering the GHQ---there are non-sensitive areas in the GHQ as well and then there are sensitive areas where an elected or party official maynot be taken in. But such was not the issue in this case. It was a case of a simple 'snub'.

Thats an awesome step GHQ shouldnt allow corrupt and unworthy people like zardari or joker mailk to even enter a garison.
Zardari the guy own more then 2.5 BILLION $$ that he has made from curropt meanshes nothing but a blood sucking paracite for Pakistan.
GOD BLESS PAKISTAN
