The crews of the strategic missile-carriers Tu-160 and Tu-95MS completed flights with refueling in the air. Refueling took place in the daytime and at night at altitudes of about 5,000 meters, at a speed of about 600 kilometers per hour, with the use of additional lighting installed on both the tanker aircraft and the aircraft being filled. The flight duration of long-range aviation crews ranged from 3 to 8 hours.
