The majority of Singaporean is Chinese while our minorities, the Malay and Indian came from very strong sectarianism and tribalism background, namely Sunni and caste-system.

When there are Malay and Indians in a country, there will be a lot of problems, in Malaysia, aparthied and in India caste system. Oversea Malay and Indian minorities fare badly, in Southern Thailand, there is insurgency wage by Malay and in Caribbean and Fuji quasi civil war among Indians and natives.

Miraculously Singapore has not seen a single racial conflict for 50 years.

However, I have seen many Malaysian Chinese (and some Indians too) leaving permanently for Australia and other developed countries in order to avoid discrimination. This whole Bumi Putra policy is nothing but state sanctioned racism against non malays and pacifier of malays. How this so called Bumi policy helped Malays at large is beyond me. What it did help is to create a new class of elite who are as malay as if Elvis was black, they are the true benefactors of this policy. Indians are worst off, most of them have low education achievement, crime rate has risen significantly over the years. While highly educated Chinese are leaving the country. Highly educated people cannot find job in Malaysia while the richest man in Malaysia Robert Kouk shifted its company out. He came with Xi Jinping delegation! He is treated like hero in China.

And whats your point? Malaysia have really bad pays, a fresh graduate earns a median salary of roughly 1.5 to 2K RM. This stagnation is severely hampering upward mobility of middle class Malaysians.
But Singapore is no better, since its among the top 5 most expensive country to live with little to no savings for middle class.

Two Singaporean youths have been arrested under the Internal Security Act for terrorism-related activities, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said in a statement on Wednesday.

The first, post-secondary student M Arifil Azim Putra Norja'i, 19, had made plans to join the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), and if he was unable to join the terrorist group there, planned to strike here.

Arifil is the first known self-radicalised Singaporean to harbour the intention to carry out violent attacks in Singapore, the ministry said.

"More importantly, Arifil also revealed that if he was unable to join ISIS in Syria, he intended to carry out violent attacks in Singapore. He gave considerable thought to how he would attack key facilities and assassinate government leaders," MHA said.

If he was unable to execute those plans, Arifil had planned to carry out attacks in public places, with weapons such as knives, in order to strike fear within society, it added.

MHA said Arifil had tried to recruit several people to help carry out the attacks, and while they were not swayed by Arifil, they did not alert the authorities about the plans either.

"Fortunately, another person who knew Arifil noticed the changes in him, and had brought him to the attention of the authorities, who were then able to investigate the matter and take action before he could carry out his violent attack plans in Singapore," it added.

Malaysian constitution recognises the Cham rights to Malaysian citizenship and their Bumiputera status.

"If one of the parents is Muslim Malay/Orang Asli[5] as stated in Article 160 (2) Federal Constitution of Malaysia; thus the child is considered as a Bumiputra"
No muslim clause with Sabah and Sarawak. Orang Asli have very strong incentive to convert to muslim. Usually the government offers them money.. erhemmm "aid" to urge them to convert. I can confirm this.

Thai should be in my opinion, southern Thai and Malay have same features.

If I can add; its part of representative democracy , and active leadership to include minority groups in government. It's actually an example of transformational and collaborative leadership. You integrate minorities with majority and you begin to construct a seamless society. Look how there are little to no protests in Singapore.

Also, in Japan we have also quite a number of Japanese who have Chinese ancestry who serve in the Highest Legislative body the House of Councilors. Several city administrators and prefectural level elected officials are also Japanese of Chinese ancestry. Tho we have only around 1 million or so Chinese in Japan they are well received in politics. Interesting enough the Chinese Japanese are probably one of the most loyal to Japan , contrary to what ultra conservatives say. It's all about empowering minority groups, giving them access to power in the establishment --- and they will integrate.
