Question about custom duty on mobile phones and Electronics in Pakistan

Hi guys.

I am travelling to Pakistan in few weeks. I have got 5/6 mobile phones and most of them are used phones from previous contracts which i want to take with me for some cousins and family members.. I want to know how many mobiles per person are allowed at Pakistani airports without paying any custom charges/duty fees etc. I have no clue about how custom tariffs work in Pakistan. What are the charges for mobile phones if its more than two? Is custom duty same for brand new or used mobile?

sorry i did not get it. if you are asking whether its for personal use then yes they are..no business intended as these are all used personal phones without boxes and i will carry them in suitcase .. I was told that they tease you at airports for bribe if its more than two so i will rather pay to government than paying to some person..I also have no clue whether there is flat duty fees for mobile or its all depend on value of mobile phones..There should be proper guideline for layman just like in uk there is standard vat apply if you import new phone from outside EU..

take a few crappy cheap ones uncle will tak it as bribe.

and give one to each member of family and go thru airport.

but bro they are one hungry son of bitches you cant plz them, they not muslims. if pressure get to much pull out your fone and make video they get embrassed and shame. we should make petition, to lord nazir to sort out airport bad behaviour.

Brother if i wanted to give bribe then i would have not ask this question. that wat i sed until i got there bro watch how they surround you and throw your bags and start treat you like a drug dealer. i got very hot temper too cos i suffer from collaspe disc alot of pain, but they got guns.
These are the guys that sell thier mums off at cheapest price.

i have had the same situation and same question .. i was having 4 fones + the one i was using total 5 .. i kept two in my jeans, one fone in my back pack, one in hand carry and one in luggage .. nobody ask nothing ..

I came with 6 phones once,I put 3 in my luggage and 3 in my hand carry. No one noticed.

yea some people can easily get away with it while others get in their trapped .. They take advantage of our ignorance about custom rules as none of us has any clear ideas about custom and duty charges. I have tried to search the answer of these questions on internet but cannot find any answers

If you are using the rwp airport than you have nothing to worry about

Just put them in your pockets, we have done this a lot of times. As for other electronics like tab, laptop etc in the luggage, they have never bothered asking but i am sure they do go after certain people, so it kind of boils down to ones luck. The English thing is soo true, you should use it to your advantage just incase you run into any problem. A week back my friend had parked his car in the wrong place in a hotel's parking and when the guard came he started explaining in the British accent which completely escaped that guard and he went away smiling.
