Coming into this match after making a huge upset yesterday against World No.2 Wang Yihan, Sindhu started her match against the former World No.1 a bit slowly but gathered pace in her game after 10 minutes. She was able to maintain a 5 point lead for some time as well. Game 1 wasnt looking tough, but both players went neck-to-neck and the final score was 21-18 in Sindhus favor.
In the second game as well, Sindhu started her campaign convincingly and in no time had the lead, 6-2. But the former world no.1 wasnt ready to give away points that easily and fought hard. All through game 2 Sindhu was able to maintain a two or three point lead, which proved to be an advantage for her.
She ultimately won the match 21-18, 21-17.
