P.V. Sindhu staged another upset as she beat former World No.1 and current 8th ranked Shixian Wang of China in the quarter-finals of the BWF World Championships. Sindhu won the game 21-18, 21-

Coming into this match after making a huge upset yesterday against World No.2 Wang Yihan, Sindhu started her match against the former World No.1 a bit slowly but gathered pace in her game after 10 minutes. She was able to maintain a 5 point lead for some time as well. Game 1 wasn’t looking tough, but both players went neck-to-neck and the final score was 21-18 in Sindhu’s favor.

In the second game as well, Sindhu started her campaign convincingly and in no time had the lead, 6-2. But the former world no.1 wasn’t ready to give away points that easily and fought hard. All through game 2 Sindhu was able to maintain a two or three point lead, which proved to be an advantage for her.

She ultimately won the match 21-18, 21-17.

Gift of Eid from SIndhu...

The thing to be noticed that she has already beat almost all top Chinese players in last one year..Today Wang Shixian (WR # 5), yesterday Yihan Wang (WR # 2)....Just after olympic she beat Olympic gold medalist Li Xuerui (WR #1)...

On the other hand Saina was never that comfortable against the Chinese..Though she had better record against Xuerui or Shixian...she lost all her six encounter against former number one Yihan Wang (now #2")..

And Sindhu is only 18 years of age...

great news...we ensured one medal from her... :yahoo:

sad news is that both Saina and Kashyap lost in QF..
