thats a deal between a private Corporation. I actually work for airbus. Its not a deal between airbus and india. But italy did veto the freetrade agreement with india, which cost india 16 billion $. On a sidenote we also declared that our soldiers would not rescue any indian sailors who are hold as hostages from somali pirates. Why should we? The EU is indians largest trading partner. Our penalties we implemented did cost india several billion $ in the last months. Your own government admits this. As your ambassador in italy said... the marine case was cooked up because sonia gandhi is italian, elections were there and she feared it could drop her chances if marines go free. Fair enough point ... But an agreement was signed between India & Italy according to which any Italian convicted in India can spend their jail time in Italy ... So they won't languish in Indian jail even if they are convicted ...
Nobody is calling them "Cold blooded murderers " like ISIS who behead/ blow up people for fun .... But those marines where not properly trained for anti piracy mission since Indian coasts are not even slightly effected by piracy ... No Somali/any other pirate would even dare to enter anywhere near Indian coast( due to the shear might of Indian navy)... These marines got the geography wrong .... Yes, it was mistake on part the marines & the shipping company & i know that SC will remain unbiased (or may be even transfer the case to Int.Court of Justice, given it's merit) .. I also hope that this issue gets solved fast... There is no point in this continuing hostilities.
