MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin in a recent telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that Russia had nothing to do with the air raid on Turkish military servicemen committed on November 24, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.
"It is true," Peskov told TASS in reply to a question.
Putin and Erdogan talked by telephone on November 26. Peskov said the two men discussed coordination of efforts and interaction on Syrian affairs.
"Different aspects of cooperation were raised. Some very sensitive issues were touched upon. Naturally, this information is not for publication," Peskov said.
Earlier, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus said there were no Russian planes in the area where Turkish military personnel were attacked nearly Syria’s Al Bab.
"Putin confirmed personally that Russian planes were not involved in that strike. We have all recordings concerning the movements of these planes and drones in the area of the attack. Once we’ve studied them, the required action will be taken," he said.
Combat aircraft attacked a group of Turkish military personnel in Syria late at night on November 24. Three Turkish soldiers were killed and ten others injured. According to preliminary data available from the Turkish side, the Syrian Air Force might have been responsible.
