Purple Metro Line Train Underground Project Lahore

After successful launching of two mega mass transport projects in Lahore, Punjab Government has planned to start next metro train project. The latest mass transit project will be Purple Line Metro Train. The route of this train will be from Bhatti Gate to Alllama Iqbal International airport. It is travel underground. Famous Mall road will its path.

All is underground according to Shahbaz Sharif. Orange line being above ground was made controversial by opposition. TBH I would have liked orange line to be underground as well. But Showbaz wanted something for next election and to be completed on time.

Lahore is developed enough..he needs to focus on under-developed parts of Southern Punjab and small towns of Northern Punjab.

Dont make this about plmln and pti, its about the right to criticism of wrong policies that monarchy loving people of this country consider blasphemy, they dont need metro trains genius, the already limited funds that we have need to be spent evenly across the province, the condition southern punjab is in is deprolable, maximum funds nees to be provides to build the village type hell holes there into proper little cities with modern infrastructure, clean water, hospitals, schools, economic powerhouses need to be developed in that area by introducing industrialisation and for that u need proper infrastructure, pakiztan has limited funds, these trains look good but we need to take a step back and think, do we need them, are we at that stage of economic parity that we can afford them?? These grand projects are always launched by nations when they have the cash in hand and have developed a sound health, educational and industrial base, all that was needed in lahore was a little widening of roads and on road buses and a regulated govt funded hiace program with road side modern stations, that introduced on a city scale would have been enough to cater to lahore's transport needs and on top of that govt wouldnt have had to provide subsidies for it to function hell.they would've made profits, the money spent on metro train alone could've brought many areas in southern punjab to the 21st century, development is always even and gradual and almost equal across a region or else a modern city developed city on the shores of an ocean of underdeveloped 18th century shithole swiftly turns it into a white elephant...

Lahore probably shouldn't have been continued to be developed at the scale it was after 3 wars with India. Rather it's expanding east towards the border.

Smaller satellite cities should have been built up from existing towns, westward.

And who told you Shahbaz isn't developing south punjab? Remember south punjab is still ahead of KPK and interior Sindh despite PPP ruling for 40 years.

I am royally confused by reading your post....what are you trying to say? I've worked with top tier Pakistani engineering firms so they understand how the urban cities and development works. Lahore has expanded like crazy. What "parallel" cities aren't getting developed? A city that is attracting the highest number of immigrants across your country (when its already densely populated as hell), requires proper public service and transport facilities. What is it that they are doing wrong?

The US didn't grow economically from the plains of Kansas, Arkansas and Nebraska. It grew by turning her bigger cities into more modern cities and associated infrastructure like NYC, DC, Dallas, Houston, LA, San Fran, Seattle, Chicago (the list goes on and on). Each one of these cities have layered transportation services like what they are building in this area. What is it that the "western" countries are building that they aren't building?

The bigger cities grow first, creating tremendous opportunity for people and more and more new jobs due to this infrastructure expansion. That also gives the government the ability to collect more taxes and spread that bigger tax net money to smaller towns and villages. I don't think anyone did any urban planning in Pakistan for the past whatever 70 years, why do you think they can or should in one shot build the entire country from bigger cities to smaller villages? That's a pretty silly and crazy logic and has no real life common sense to it.
