chairman and deputy chairman Senate , Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan Saturday announced that his party was ready to support the candidate of Pakistan People’s Party for the slot of deputychairman Senate .

PTI Chairman Imran Khan made this announcement indirectly while addressing a joint press conference at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House along with Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo.

Earlier, PTI leadership, including KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak held a meeting with Bizenjo who heads the group of independent senators-elect from Balochistan.

A day earlier, the PTI chairman had outrightly ruled out the possibility of supporting any PPP-nominated candidate for the top two Senate slots. Imran had said that PTI would not vote for any candidate of PML-N and PPP for these slots as “shaking hands with PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari and his likes would be tantamount to contradicting the party’s 22 years long struggle against corruption.”

Changing his stance on Saturday, Imran said that his party was ready to vote a panel of nominees of the CM Balochistan and that includes a PPP candidate for the position of deputy chairman .

The CM Balochistan on the occasion said they had suggested two names of independent senators-elect from the province, Anwarul Haq Kakar and Sadiq Sanjrani, to the PTI for the slot of chairman Senate . The two names emerged after Bizenjo’s back to back meetings with the leadership of PPP and PTI .

In his presser, Imran Khan at first avoided to categorically mention his support for PPP’s nominee for deputy chairman slot. When asked if his party would support deputychairman of PPP , he said: “The CM Balochistan has requested us to support whole panel for the slot of chairman and deputy chairman Senate…all senators of PTI would vote for the panel.” He further said that PTI had been assured that chairman senatewould be nominated from amongst the six independent senators from Balochistan.

PTI Chief Imran Khan said his party wanted to give representation to FATA by electing deputy chairman hailing from that area but now the CM Balochistan had requested them that for a bigger consensus PTI should support anyone he (Bizenjo) would suggest.

Imran Khan said it would be first time in the country’s parliamentary history that Senatechairman would be elected from the most deprived province of Pakistan.

Bizenjo on the occasion thanked both the PTI and PPP leadership saying it became possible after the PTI chief gave him a free hand by placing support of his all 13 senators at his disposal. “Credit goes to Imran Khan as after his offer, we are in a position to properly negotiate with other political parties, including the PPP ,” he said. He also appreciated PPP for surrendering its chairman Senate candidate for the sake of Balochistan although it had strength of 20 senators in the house.

Bizenjo hoped that all other parties would support their panel especially those having representation from Balochistan, including Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), National Party, JUI-F, and others.

Soon after the press conference, a spokesperson of PTI in a statement said that PTIwould support the panel of independent senators-elect of Balochistan. PTI will support the nominee of this panel for the slot of deputy chairman irrespective of the fact that it belonged to PPP or any other political party, the statement said.

They are basically backing a baloch candidate regardless of party. putting their votes to a good use rather than wasting them .attempting to get a baloch candidate elected for the seat for the first time in history. the irony, this is coming from pmln that has already declared they would back a ppp candidate like raza rabbani.

This is another evidence that all this is a power politics, and parties including, PMLN, PTI and PPPP are doing this... no difference...
The only difference is that PTI was once used to blame PPPP and PMLN for Muk Muka, but now curtains falling down one after another & this recent move (using Baluchistan CM's shoulder to vote PPPP candidate for deputy Chairman) plus Mall road jalsa (TuQ, Zardari, IK) clears a fact to everyone that all those accusations of Muk Muka were an eye wash, and PTI is no different, and can do Muk Muka with anyone for Political benefit, this time its with PPPP, and remember PPPP's guilts/crimes i.e Uzair Baloch (target killing, terrorism plus relations with RAW i.e Kulbhushan yadav), doctor asim plus Ayyan ali money laundering For zardari, swiss bank accounts, china cutting, extortion by PPP in karachi, rental power plants, memogate, Hussain Haqqani, Nisar Morai crimes for zardari etc. ect. etc., meaning all crimes of PPPP stand null and void for PTI now ..., now let us make an assumption like a case study & replace current position of PPPP with PMLN...right..., meaning PPPP in govt in center plus ruling Punjab, zardari disqualified and, PMLN in sindh govt...in that situation IK & PTI will surely be standing with PMLN to oust Zardari & PPPP from Punjab, so its a battle for Punjab since its inception, Meaning there is no struggle for justice, only power politics...Senate Chairman matter aside, end of the day all parties especially PTI want Punjab be fetched away from PMLN by hook or by crook...

This is PMLN aukat

. . .
Independent Balochistan senator-elect Sadiq Sanjrani has emerged as a top contender for the post of Senate chairman, with the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), PPP, MQM-P and Balochistan senators reportedly reaching consensus on his nomination for the March 12 election, according to sources.

The PTI had earlier on Friday announced that it would vote for neither the PPP nor the PML-N's nominees during the election for Senate chairman. A day later, however, the PTI announced that it would vote for the panel announced by Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo in connection with the election for the Senate's top posts.

On Sunday, the party announced its support for Sanjrani, already backed by CM Bizenjo, as its pick for the post. The PTI will also be backing the PPP's nominee for deputy chairman Senate, who will be a part of Bizenjo's panel, as per an agreement with the Balochistan CM.

Sanjrani, an independent senator from Balochistan, is considered close to the PPP leadership and may be backed by the ruling party in Sindh ─ in exchange for his support to the PPP's proposed deputy chairman ─ and by four out of five MQM-P senators, who have also extended their support to the PPP's nominee for deputy chairman, according to well-placed sources.

Although the PPP's pick for deputy chairman has yet to be announced publicly, Saleem Mandviwala is considered to be the front-runner for the position, the source said.

PTI's inclination towards PPP's candidate emerged after a meeting between Balochistan CM Bizenjo and PTI Chairman Imran Khan at the latter's Bani Gala residence on Sunday. Bizenjo was accompanied by a delegation of independent senators-elect from the province.

During the meeting, Khan announced his support for any candidate the PPP puts up for the post of deputy chairman as per an agreement with Bizenjo.

"As per our promise to the Balochistan CM, we will support the PPP's candidate for deputy chairman of the Senate," Khan assured a delegation of the senators-elect from Balochistan.

Imran Khan told the media in a visit to Faisalabad on Sunday that during the meeting with Bizenjo, he had been asked to support the Balochistan CM's panel, which included a deputy chairman nominated by the PPP. Both sides had already agreed on supporting senator-elect Sanjrani for the post of chairman of the Upper House.

The PTI chief added that he had agreed to support Bizenjo's panel as "mitigating a sense of deprivation among the citizens of Balochistan is essential".

"Extraordinary steps are needed to remove the sense of deprivation among the people of Balochistan," he said. "Countering the corrupt and selfish Sharif family is mandatory to safeguard the reputation of the parliament and democracy," he claimed, explaining his reasons behind the decision.

According to the sources, the PML-N has been having a tough time rallying support for its picks for the posts of chairman and deputy chairman Senate.

The PML-N's leadership had asked Hasil Bizenjo of the National Party to take the lead for them in the race for Senate chairman and garner support from other senators in the province, but the independents gave him the cold shoulder, the sources told DawnNewsTV.

Hasil Bizenjo was subsequently advised by the newly elected Balochistan chief minister to stay away from the tussle brewing between the independents and the ruling party, the sources said.

The bigger irony is not what, that is discussed in this report but bigger irony for PTI fans is that PTI is standing with same PPPP (by using Baluchistan CM's shoulder to vote PPPP candidate for deputy Chairman) who bought PTI's KPK electables in senate elections, and IK criticised horse trading done by zardari, but for PTI the situation in KPK is very tough check this report...

PTI in a fix over taking action against defecting K-P MPAs

PESHAWAR:

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to call for its budget session on May 5, 2018; 23 days before the interim government takes over before the general elections.
The dilemma the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) finds itself in is a Pandora’s Box of allegations against its own MPAs who might have been involved in horse-trading and the pressure that action against them should be taken. But is that a possibility?

Insiders familiar with the matter say that the province has completed its paperwork for the budgetary work and is now waiting for a nod of consensus, but what remains is the fact that if any action against those who have defected is taken, it might bring down the house on the PTI to maintain a simple majority in the assembly, the nemesis of the government is not a likely outcome but what will have to be done is to strike a deal with those who have defected.

PTI aware of members involved in horse-trading: speaker K-P Assembly

To maintain a simple majority 63 MPAs are required to form a government, currently the PTI have 60, with the Jamat-e-Islami’s (JI) support the figure swells to another seven MPAs.

If another independent candidate Shah Faisal is added to the list, this makes up for strength for 68.

Considering that the party decides to take action against those MPAs that have defected. Based on what the provincial leadership has to say behind closed doors these MPAs are between nine to 17 in number. If the party takes action against five, it will lose simple majority. But that is not all.

Considering the legal purview, when the budget is presented and the forward block plans a move against the government, under the article 63-A of the Constitution the grounds for disqualification apply to a member of a political party who votes or abstains from voting in the House contrary to any direction issued by the Parliamentary Party to which he belongs, in relation to a Money Bill which in this case is the budget.

Dodgy delimitations: K-P assembly speaker to write to ECP

“Even if we take action the ECP will not de-seat them?” says an Shoukat Yousafzai of PTI. “The forward block has been creating hindrances but on the other hand there are backdoor channels through which everyone is negotiating for a ticket for the next election”.

The K-P Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has initiated an inquiry against those involved in horse-trading on the directions of the party chief Imran Khan. The public stance is that they will be expelled from the party but ground realities suggest that the PTI might have to negotiate their way out if the current government is to present the budget 2018.

On April 2, 2014, around 14 PTI formed a forward bloc in K-P Assembly terming it a group of like-minded individuals where at the same time demanded due share in the government and expressed reservations at the party high-ups interference in provincial matters, especially over the appointment of ministers and advisers in the cabinet.

The MPAs showed confidence in PTI Chairman Imran Khan, seemingly out of fear of disqualification from the party, and claim that being party workers, it was their right to raise their voice for their rights as they were accountable to their followers. The group had emerged over induction of ministers and advisers in the K-P cabinet and shuffling of the health ministry portfolio.
