Change starts with mindset of people...

What Karachi needs is restructuring on a massive scale... and for that not only the govt but people have to work their arses off...

People:
1)Need to keep their areas clean atleast
2) Start shifting on Solar slowly
Govt:
1) needs to make area-wise water distribution (best solution with current scenario because govt can't destroy building for water lines) I have seen such systems in Villages of Italy where people go and get fresh water
2) Make a waste management system
3) Get rid of Wadeeras stealing water
4) Get rid of K-Electric and transfer Karachi on National Grid

People:
1. areas are kept as clean as possible, trouble starts when no one collects garbage from bins and dumps for months on end.
2. agreed, lets not rely on govt to supply electricity anymore (despite heavy taxes)

Govt:
1. Boring system should be banned, one large bore (per mohalla), only operated by water supply company, plus stop the theft of water.
2. this is what is missing, that causes the troubles mentioned in previous section's point1.
3. waderas do not steel water, you will be surprised to know the identity of those people. waderas think big.
4. breaking it up would be better, and in the mean time improving the transmission and distribution system would help as well. K-electric k chor, use silver instead of copper, and even replace copper in many cases. good/new transformers are installed in cantonments/dha etc, and crappy, repaired ones are places in other areas.

Live in Block "I" , and we have been doing this for years. We have a street committee, which comprises of everyone living on the street, and every month, we meet and discuss the issue.

D block here. roads destroyed, gutters overflowing etc. puray north ka he bura hashar hai. the service roads from kda to sakhi hassan were destroyed to lay down some pipelines, but havent been rebuilt since.

1) Need for a bin collection system... and Bahi heavy taxes are placed everywhere in country aswell and taxes especially income tax are backbone for any country's treasury..
2) Waderas do steel water bahi... Iqrar Ul Hassan did a whole program on how Waderas/others stole and used water for irrigation... but I would like to know your opinion on who they are...
3) Boring company per mohala is the best option...
4) Transmission & distribution needs to be developed all along the country especially major cities... we lose almost 20% to 30% electricity due to bad Transmission lines...
