His last name is Lund, so I dont know how its the parents fault. I googled it and there is Baloch tribe called Lund which settled in Punjab and Sindh region, he is probably one of them.
Different cultures have different names. Butt is also common name in South Asia.

Well that was fine when Baloch people did not know real Urdu, but now a days this is the most common word used in street language, a sane person would like to give up this "Family name", specially if they are settled in Punjab, where almost same sounding word is used in punjabi.

I guess I'm lucky I dont have a controversial name or surname so I cant speak for those people but I'd imagine it is not an easy decision to change your surname (could be a matter of pride). Its the same like asking someone with Butt surname to change theirs if they go to any English speaking nation I suppose
