What's new

Protests erupt as VHP’s Ram Rajya rath yatra enters Tamil Nadu

Illa mapla,

Thamilnadu our method of praying God is three categories, mandatory.

1. Kula deivam - our family God.
2. Ishta deivam - shiva, Vishnu, Muruga, Ganesha etc.,
3. Ancestors - we do pray our ancestors.

So you go to the temple to pray to your ancestors ? :cheesy:

.
He is lying through his nose, contradicting himself all the time, in an attempt to extract himself from this foot in mouth situation.

Not the brightest of trolls.
Trolls all by you. Read all my posts yesterday and your responses. All my posts yesterday were gentle and yours were not.

mapla?
I am sure I am older then you.

1. Who is your Kula Daivam? Mother mary or Father Pope?
2. Who is your Ishta Daivam?
3. We all pray to our ancestors. That's our culture and has nothing to do with religion.

Anyway, you are have taken so many U turns that even Kejriwal would be proud of you.

Only because you are a coward and a fool. And since I am neither, I do not have to be considerate towards idiots.

Of course you do from your home. Prayer to God need not be there only in temples.

So then why do you go to temples ? :cheesy:

To pray to which god ?

.
But you don't believe in Vishnu and Shiva?
You just denied them.

AND more importantly you did not deny other religious figures.

Now you do a spectacular U turn and say you visit temples.

Yenna macha, paithyama? :crazy::crazy::crazy:

That's the very same reason I say if you don't understand us tamils don't criticize. Temple is not only meant for Siva and Vishnu. Our Kula deivam temples usually has many gods along with Muruga and Ganesha only. There is no space in general for Siva or Vishnu.

Many of our temples are constructed for worshiping Kali. You rarely find separate place for shiva or Vishnu.

Many of our temples have naga idols to be worshipped.

We have seperate temples fornshani bagawan.

Etc.

I deny Vishnu. But it does not mean I should not go to temple

. .
Wait wait, You don't believe in Bhagawan Shiva but you believe in his sons?
Muruga is a Tamil God. As some one else pointed out, you cannot generalise it as hinduism. Its a thamil way of worshipping. You will not understand this.

How is Murugan a Tamil god when Hindus all over the world worship him?
How can you believe in Murugan and say his dad does not exist?

Oh man, so you seriously believe muruga is a physical son of shiva ? ☺️

See if you really want to understand how hinduism evolved, how beaf is used in indian politics after Buddhism evolved, how caste system formed in india, how Dravidian culture pushing back aryan culture , how tamil kings mocked by Aryans, basic differences between tamil and sanskrit languages, the original gods of tamils, who has introduced caste system in our culture, why no reference to hindu gods in most of old tamil literature, how hinduism introduced to tamil literature a few hundred years before.... And many more

If you learn all these may be you will understand about tamilnadu

Winding up man. Will use my bench time on something useful.

ALL of which is true for north India too :cheesy:

You continue to deny vishnu, but so far you have not denied jesus and muhammed. ..... and you have said you go to church, so you clearly know who jesus is.

Tamils ancestor worship is not sraddha , its an elaborate worship similar to Chinese ancestor worship

whats the problem in having Siva linga in Palani temple ? The temple is dedicated to Murugan ( similar to how Tirupathi was a Murugan temple ). The linga is a later day add ons.
by brahmanists. Originally, the deity was created by Tamil siddhar Bhogar and theres no mention of him creating or installing a linga in Palani.

BTW linga worshiped is condemned in the Vedas as asuric since its origins are in Tamil culture. Sivan, Vishnu etc are Tamil gods, they have elaborate mention in Tamil scriptures, where as in Vedas they have scanty references.

One more point, the original priest in Palani were non Brahmins Tamils, the Nayaks rulers replaced them with imported brahmin from North. This happened to other temples too

Created by Bhogar, it was maintained after him by sage Pulippani and his descendants almost as their personal and private temple.

During the time of Tirumalai Nayak, his general Ramappayyan handed over the puja rights to newly brought Brahmin priests. The descendants of Pulippani were compensated for the loss of this right by being given: Certain duties of superintendence Right to some annual presents Right to shoot off, at the Dasara Festival, the arrow which symbolises Subramanya's victory over asuras. Right to be buried at the foot of the steps leading to the hill, if some of them so chose.

Every hindu has ancestor worship.

Its one of the 5 basic Nitya karma a Hindu has to do everyday. Its called Achamana where water is offered everyday to your ancestors along with the gods.

In fact, chinese ancestor worship has come from India via Buddhism.

I have no problem with you claiming them to be Tamil gods. I am glad you have finally accepted Hinduism is Tamil.

However your story tells us two things. Tamil kings had no problem bringing in north Indian brahmins since they have the same Hindu faith and practices as the south Indian sages.

Especially since you consider Brhamins as Aryans a.k.a north Indians.

Murugan is common to all world culture, in India, the brahmanist appropriated and inducted Murugan into vedic brahmanism , they have no stake over Murugan.

wrong again, Chinese ancestor worship is Taoism/Confucianism which is close to Tamil religion due to the Tamil-Chinese Siddha connection. Ancestor worship permeated into Chinese Buddhism

Hindu is a name given by foreigners , regardless of the denial, it doesnt negate the fact that Hindus worship Tamil 'gods'/ancestors

FYI, Nayaks were not Tamil kings
