To be perfectly honest, I have to agree with him. He is bang on, regarding the issue. I was watching this interview abt a retired pilot and he explained how these new systems are actually counterproductive. They forget that humans have emotions and have to deal with certain spontaneous emotions that arise when a crisis is faced. Humans cant think logically sometimes especially under stress, like a falling plane; so they wont be able to preform complicated procedures at that time.

What do u guys think?
But it's too late tho, eh?Will have to see the FAA investigation results. More groundings have happened since because they have spotted similar flight input/condition (likely AoA related) in both the incidents (lion air and ehtiopian) from satellite telemetry.
If it is indeed systematic, this is a very serious issue as the 737 is an extremely reliable platform before this....if Boeing has messed up somewhere (and its not just some freaky coincidence) it needs to find out where and fast.
Trump's gut feel on this is fine....but the words didn't really come out right....since its not really intelligence of the pilot that matters....but rather the interfacing the aircraft has....it has to be reliable and robust....with proper redundancies if its flight critical.
Glitches can hurt a lot, there was one on the airbus A320 (iirc) family early on where if you put the aircraft on autopilot....but introduced enough input long enough on the stick...the stick input would eventually override the autopilot (which is BAD). This caused a Russian plane crash (in the 90s iirc) because the pilot let in a cpl kids to play with the stick (thinking autopilot is ON thus they cant do anything input wise etc)....but he was wrong (and didn't know of course). It took lot of work in the post crash analysis and then the simulator to find the glitch and correct it.

Already did on the day the plane went down. By 9%Expect Boeing shares to tank tomorrow.

These things should be tested rigorously before selling.

Never liked this monopoly that Airbus and Boeing has. It creates less competition meaning substandard products.Yes, if indeed Boeing is culpable in some way here....it will be terrible news and a giant step backwards of a proven platform for little to no reason.
Yep I will be looking to buy some shares because of it...
