President of India’s Message on the eve of Independence Day of Brazil

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Federative Republic of Brazil on the eve of their Independence Day (September 7, 2015).

In his message to Her Excellency Ms. Dilma Rousseff, the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, the President has said, “On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to felicitate you, the Government and the people of the Federative Republic of Brazil on the occasion of your Independence Day.

India and Brazil enjoy warm and cordial relations, which has evolved into a Strategic Partnership, characterized by multi-faceted engagements covering a range of activities in the political, economic and cultural fields. Our co-operation in BRlCS, IBSA, BASIC and G4 adds even greater salience to our engagement. The continued interaction at highest levels between our countries will, I am sure, enhance and strengthen our bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefit of our two peoples.

Please accept, Excellency, my best wishes for your good health and personal well-being, as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Brazil.”

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has conveyed his best wishes to the people of Brazil, on their Independence Day.

"Best wishes to the people of Brazil on their Independence Day. India and Brazil have strong and long-standing cooperation in many areas.

I see great potential for India-Brazil ties to grow even further, which will benefit the people of both our nations", the Prime Minister said.
