President Obama’s final approval rating is 60%, poll shows
President Obama will leave office this week with sky-high approval ratings, a new poll out Wednesday showed.
About 60% of Americans said they approve of Obama's job performance, the latest Washington Post-ABC News poll found, making him one of the best liked exiting commanders-in-chief.
Only 38% said they disapprove of Obama, the survey, taken Jan. 12-15 among 1,005 people, found.

His approval mark is his highest of any Washington Post-ABC News poll since 2009, when 65% of respondents said they approved of him.
President-elect Donald Trump’s approval rating at 40%
His latest ratings also put him in good company among several former Presidents who also enjoyed high marks as they left office.

By comparison, Franklin Roosevelt's final approval ratings were 71%, Bill Clinton's were 65%, Ronald Reagan's were 64% and Dwight Eisenhower's were 59%, according to various polls.
On the other hand, Obama's final ratings are nearly twice of those of his predecessor, George W. Bush, who left office with a dismal 33% approval rating in 2009.
Jimmy Carter left office with a 34% approval rating, and Harry Truman left office with a 32% approval ratings, polls showed.
