Pranab Mukherjee to take over PM office for 5 weeks

i want to see rahul gandhi takeover as the next pm.he looks sincere enough to run the country...and he is around 40...so not that young too...he is to india what i believe imran khan might be to pakistan.

Rahul Ganshi is destined to be the Indian PM.

I have high hopes from him. He seems sincere and capable of taking bold decisions. Being a Gandhi, he can enforce his writ too without challenge from the party.

Yeah, Rahul is my choice! He is the Perfect Leader in the Moulding. He is not 40 yet, I think he is in mid thirties.

Rahul Gandhi becoming PM is the worst thing that can happen. Yet another generation of dynastic politics.
I don't want my PM to be born destined for the throne.

That should not become a disqualification though!

He is earning his spurs the hard way. There are advantages in having a Gandhi as a PM as you have some measure of discipline in the party and the government.

In this era of raucous coalitions, I think having a leader towering in stature will reduce the inevitable bickering. The Gandhi name provides that stature.

Till the time we can come to the era of two major parties (or at least two major coalitions), this remains my preferred choice.

Ditto, Its not Dynastic Politics I feel, Rahul is earning his position. He has all the qualities of a Leader I feel.

I don't think so at all. His speeches suck, he has very little understanding of the country and how it works.

We need a grassroots leader as PM.

There are a lot of better young leaders in Congress who are getting sidelined because their mom isn't the head of the party.

Come on, There is nothing to know how a System works, I feel Rahul will bring in some change to the Politics Of India. He has the calibre and the Mentality to do so. As for Grassroot person as PM, well we have had many, what have they done??? They just followed the path set before. We Need Change, and for that we need Rahul I believe. Congress has some bright young guys, and they form Rahuls core team. When he comes to power, he brings them in and then we will be rid of all the 80+ people walking around, barely out of their death beds! ;)

What makes you think so?

And God, we have enough of these grassroots leaders. More than we need. they are all corrupt and incompetent.

We need more who can think big rather than just thinking where the next vote is coming from and how the dirty politics works at the grassroots.

The Indians here are obsessed with Gandhi-ism! Rahul has rock-star status in India by virtue of his family ties, I saw him speak during Miliband visit, he was no Obama for sure. But I sincerely believe that the Gandhi family has the curse of the Kennedy family! Rahul should be better off as a king maker than being the king himself one day!

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee has said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was under stress after the recent terror attacks in Mumbai. The External Affairs Minister told about PM's stress in an exclusive interview on the Walk the Talk programme on NDTV.

PM admitted to hospital now...

Answering a question on how he himself was handling the extra pressure, Mukherjee said that he had done it before.

Pranab are you ready for IIMC operation??
