PPP on confrontation path with judiciary like Musharraf
Updated at: 1906 PST, Saturday, July 11, 2009
KARACHI: Amir Jamaat Islami Syed Munawwar Hasan Saturday said the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has started confrontation with judiciary in the footsteps of former President Gen Pervez Musharraf.
Talking to media at Karachi airport, he said the government should focus on giving relief to the people without divesting them of amenities.
Munawwar said the people heaved a sigh of relief on the SC verdict; but, the apprehensions regarding the clash between the government and the SC increased after issuance of Presidential Ordinance relating petroleum prices.
He termed it undemocratic to end the Local Bodies system before time and appoint administrator instead.
