Elections 2013: survey indicates close contest



Pakistani voters appear divided on who to vote for in the upcoming elections and which issues are most critical for the country, according to the Political Barometer, an opinion survey conducted by the Herald in partnership with the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI).



The survey engaged 1,283 respondents in 54 districts across Pakistan.

Of those who said they had registered for the upcoming elections and indicated a party preference, 29 per cent said they would vote for the PPP, 25 per cent support the PML-N and 20 per cent plan to vote for the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI).

in my almost two years time on pdf i am yet to find a pakistani member who supports PPP or bangladeshi member who supports AL but ironically enough they both are in power in their respective countries while as for india atleast there are few 5 or 6 indian members who support congress

What is the credibility of these survey ?.
What is the % of voting in Pakistan ?
What kind of issue are leading 2013 elections ?.
What is the rural voting impact on result. ?
On which factors rural people decide to vote. ?
One last thing, In India, a lot media ( specially English) is controlled by congress indirectly. Is it the same problem in Pakistan ?

PPPP leads but Very close competition of age group of 18-35, ,. PPPP have clear edge of age between 36-50, 70+ age, both PPPP have PMLN have same rate.
PPPP IS ON LEAD. Lots of ups and down will happen . I heard that lot of people left PTI due to inactive in dharna, While other left PTI due to alliance with PAT and on the religious matter because Dr tahir-ul-qadri doesn't belongs to their section. No doubt PMLN is successful in the campaign and to create division in PTI. Ultimate gainer is PPPP.
As i said, lots of ups and down will again happen in the election, may be PTI again rise.
Let see how political parties plays their card but PPPP is popular in Pakistan now.

If they conducted survey in Sindh, results will be biased for PPP, if in Punjab, PML and PTI, if in KPK then ANP and PTI would have been the frontrunners.

So it is a very flawed system to measure popularity.
