THATTA: The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) government has serious reservations over the local bodies system introduced by the past government because it failed to provide relief to masses at their doorstep.

This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah while talking to newsmen on late Sunday night. He was here to attend the 33rd annual congregation of Pir Zain-ul-Abedin Shah Jillani at the Jillani House Makli.

The chief minister said that the local bodies system was introduced by the non-representative government of the past and the system had failed badly to resolve problems of the people at local level. He said in order to provide relief to masses, the present government was formulating people-friendly programmes. He said the PPP government was launching programmes to resolve basic problems of general public, adding that providing job opportunities to unemployed youth was its top priority.

To a question, Qaim said the MQM leadership visited Bilawal House to express their sympathies over the firing incident. He said the MQM has extended full support for the solution of probelms facing the people of Sindh.

Qaim Ali Shah welcomed the PML-F and NPP support and said they have promised to extend support to his government in Sindh. He said the Ketibundar project will be started in the near future where a power plant will also be established.

He said that he had apprised Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani of shortage of water and lack of financial recourses in Sindh, adding, the prime minister had promised to extend federal government's assistance in this regard.

The stupid Moron is speaking out of his rear end. The local bodies especially in Karachi have done stirling work in providing help and facilities to the masses at their door steps. I visited Karachi last year and tagain recently this year. There is a huge improvement as compared to pre 2000. the roads are cleaner and tarmaced(mostly).there is a schedule of water supply and a number to ring to get a tanker. If security could be improved, Karachi would be a nice place to live in. This sick ---------- has done F all during his first tenure and probably will do the same in this one. Sure you have the good with the bad but you just dont uproot a good system because of a few faults.
As they say2 once an a*^% hole - always an a*&^% hole. By the way I have no regrets for using this language for this moron.
