What's new

Pongal Bullfight

Dont get frustrated so early-
what is there to know?-
There are standards to animal cruelty?-
or
Since its a Tamil Nadu culture- it is alright to abuse an animal?-
The judges will decide what the animal abuse is?- isn't it obvious from the pix/vidz?-

Tell me thins-
Do you know slaughtering cow on eid is not the religion- it is Muslim culture- tradition to slaughter cows on eid-
when you can ban culture/ traditions of minorities- why cant you apply this onto yourself?-
Instead you laugh it off as a part of victorious majority living in a so called paper secular country- where every rule/ law is for minorities-
Laugh it off and call your self communists- that makes sense-
secular my a55-

So abuse an animal and later feed it and take care of it- makes it right?-

I wouldnt call it abuse if it can and is allowed to fight back

Nope- thats animal abuse according to modern standards- and abuse to very same animal you would die for protecting- if a muslim decides to eat it-

If u cant appreciate culture back off
Anyway according to us, ur country shows women abuse no rights to them, cant drive car, in the name of culture and religion...
Now which problem is big?
Womens or animals?

Give it an option an it will prefer to run away- instead of forcibly giving amusement-

It wont run...
It will stick its horn into ur stomach...
Those days, mens can get married only if they tame the bull...

The pics are amazing though !!!
It takes place in my native city madurai in a town called alanganallur :)
proud of it :)

Yes it has been a part of Tamil culture for thousands of years. But I have mixed feelings about the sport. Though the animal is not brutally killed like in spanish bull fights, still the animal is abused by feeding it alcohol and irritating its eye with lime juice etc. On the other hand, scores of bull fighters also die every year at the bulls horns. Worst of all, the prizes awarded for these events are pathetic. It ranges form a flimsy gold chains to ceiling fans and kitchen appliances ,for the youth who play with their lives! So much for preserving our culture!

the above mentioned incidents happened before, but not now as the rules are strict nowadays...
