It is just wrong to say that Imran is not known outside the subcontinent. He was more popular in Britain, Australia and other cricketing nations.
His political career has introduced him in the west as well.
He does go around the world and his voice is heard.
Its very easy to be dismissive of anyone. Please dont be biased.
Listen. He is an icon and a very well known philanthropist and politics has added to his popularity.
we can disagree with him, but it he has every right to exercise his views.
Lastly, I would prefer him running my country than the snakes currently in power.
Imran Khan could be a decent honest individual. But he definitely doesn't look strong or practical. For example, take WOT. He says if he comes to power, he will stop Pakistan's support to WOT. US is in your neighborhood for its benefit. So they will continue with their job with or without your support. Not being their ally will affect Pakistan much more. I also believe IK's support is limited to the urban populace. He neither has the grassroots knowledge nor is he a trained diplomat to lead a difficult country like Pakistan.
