In the pre-technology era, agriculture used to be the biggest contributer to economy. India has one of the most fertile land in the world. So it was not a big achievement to attain highest GDP at that time.
The religion of the ruling class mattered little to economic status of India. The only reason economy declined later was colonial powers taking away India's wealth and not concentrating on technological development of India.

Yes because those initial muslims were companions of the Prophet SAW and the best among men. They set an example for the world. Allah made an example, showing if u have imaan like these men, Allah can make u stronger than superpowers in no time.
Later any leader who been strong in imaan have achieved big things. Eg umar bin abdul aziz, sultan salahuddin, sultan mehmet, mahmud ghaznavi, ahmad shah abdali etc.

To address such issues, we would always need a unique idea which may unite people together. Unfortunately, all our political parties have some kind of ethnic agenda which is why they are elected in their respective areas.

Yes those may be very valid arguments - but the “Urdu speaking” lot(whom I belong to and consider extremely racist and disconnected from Urdu in reality) picked up the gun and that stayed with that entire generation. That fat pig in London took the pen and ruined entire generations with the gun, his lieutenants still holding press conferences could get you an Indian visa with a single call - so lets not wash this community off with milk.

There were “Urdu speakers” also honored in last year Mujahideen e Aflaak who dropped the first bomb on India. It all depends on the community leadership and integration. That problem goes into Karachi’s own divisions along class and ethnic lines - the Dha/clifton vs everything else.
Which reflects in that the DHA urdu speaking category(which actually includes the upper middle and elites from all other provinces) voted for MQM because of Musharraf or PTI today.
Whereas the poverty striken areas either vote or get their votes taken by thugs going door to door to collect ID cards for either MQM or PPP.

So if these urdu speakers can hurl accusations of calling Punjabis “Jatt ganwar” or Sindhi “Marus” for following the likes of Nawaz and Zardari, then they also have to introspect why whether by hook or crook they sat for years listening to a drunken man drone with his thugs watching over.. or even the powerful elite from this community stood by as this happened(well, they are like all elite generally selfish to the core unless photo oppor)

Granted, there are horrible histories between the political parties - ANP,PPP and MQM that would put the drug cartels of South America to competition. And there are establishment players that sat through it because their local leaders were paid off with stakes in Petrol stations and other bribes, but at the end any fool having the delusion that Pakistan can ignore Karachi and survive are going to get a very rude awakening very soon.

That Zardari clan embedding of Sindh has created a state within a state the likes of which mirror conditions in a near breakaway province. It makes it good reason for the establishment to be nervous about the PPP versus PML(N) today.

Which is why the formula of replacing the family loyalists ongoing in Punjab is being implemented in Sindh but unlike Punjab interior Sindh is not divided for conquering. Bhutto is next to the big saints to them and PPP has made sure of it - and they need a constant cash cow which Karachi is to them with its ports and economic impact in terms of corruption earnings, so they’ll fight to the death for it - a piece of which MQM wants, ANP wants and PTI is too idealistic to understand otherwise
As far as the establishment is concerned, lets not forget it isnt a uniform organ as the false impression is given but a collective of people of which not all follow the same interests. So if there are 10 good officers in rangers trying to enforce clean elections, then there are 1-2 who get 100k per month from a gas station in SITE area through a PPP, JI or MQM partner.


Long story short, it is myopic to see ethnicity as the only plague of Karachi or Pakistan or try to tackle it in a holistic fashion.

One solution, not ideal nor preferred is a clean slate bloodbath - but then as Marx said, the only way a revolution is successful is if its leaders are killed as well - maybe PTI would have been even more successful that way but it is a very hyperbolic and frankly horrifying.

Lastly, any change requires people with a will to change and Pakistanis in general do not meet that criteria. Barring terrorism and disease, there isn’t hunger in the streets -the military elite has done its delicate balance and people generally fed - no bodies piled in the streets, no knowledge of different miseries people face nor do those done injustice to know a better future. So in all this ignorance - people are “happy and resilient!” and generally things will not change.

PTI is establishment party that have huge base in punjab for obvious reasons. The day KP turn to vote ethno nationalist then they would vote for ANP/PTM. Hazara region, Chitral etc will never vote for pashtun nationalist party in KP.

So PPP, PTI, N league are federal parties that are more popular in certain regions. MQM, ANP etc are ethno nationalist parties with 0 vote bank from other groups.
