PESHAWAR: Pakistan Army, Police, Sindh and Punjab booked a berth in the semi-finals on Friday of the 10th National Netball Men Championship which is being played at the indoor hall of the PSB Coaching Center.
Now Police will face Punjab in the first semi-final while defending champions Pakistan Army will clash against Sindh in the second semi-final to be played on Saturday in the afternoon.
In the first match of the days proceedings Pakistan Police beat Baluchistan 29-07 in a one-sided affair. Police dominated most of the time and did not give a chance to Balochistan to strike back, thus winning a key match by 29-7.
In the second match, defending champions Pakistan Army faced tough resistance against Pakistan Air Force team as both were struggling hard for a single point. Pakistan Army had a better combination against PAF and marched into victory at the end, the score was 28-22.
In the third match of the pool league, Sindh beat hosts Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 21-18 goals in other close match enjoyed by capacity crowd present on this occasion. In the fourth match Punjab beat FATA by 28-10 goals and Punjab did not give much chance to FATA to strike back.
The match between Baluchistan and FATA ended in a 17-17 draw goals while Air Force beat Islamabad by 28-10 goals and Army beat Sindh by 26-12 goals in the pool matches.
