Police reforms in KPK

don't get me wrong but the KPK govt and PTI is like an empty vessel(patili), it makes a lot of noise because it is empty and when any vessel is filled up, it doesn't make too much noise

so i suggest show us the real performance not just things which are on paper, theories, when ur police starts performing on the ground, creating peace and controling law and order than do usa favour and open a thread then and show us what you have achieved

eight months ago KPK was making tan tan like hey we are doing so much legislation, ok, but your governance seem so pathetic let me give you a clear example, i hope you guys learn from your mistake and bad governance

TubeChop - Aaj With Reham Khan (6th March 2014) Sehat Ka Insaaf! (07:03)

in the ground after eight months, no major progress showed by the tan tan party which makes more noise and its noise seem a balloon filled with hot air nothing more

KP govt to set up three model police stations

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is going to formally inaugurate three designated model police stations in the provincial capital during the current month to introduce modern policing and improve the living standards of the cops working there.

Gulbahar, Faqirabad and University Town have been declared model police stations in the first phase. The circle of these police stations, however, does not include rural areas, which have been attacked by the militants in recent years.

The model police stations will be having special desks for female complainants, a proper reception to facilitate the general public and the community policing system through the alternative dispute resolution.

Aetibar, a programme of the UK-funded Coffee International, which has some top serving and retired police and army officers on its panel of experts, is supporting the model police stations project throughout the province. There will be separate investigation and interview rooms, proper parking and adequately furnished rooms in the police station building. The investigation unit will be equipped with modern gadgetry including video and audio recording, computers and laptops and blind glass from where those being interrogated will not be able to see the investigators.According to the ASP Gulbahar, Mustafa Tanveer, there are plans to provide more facilities to the barracks of the cops, including a recreation room and properly furnished bedrooms so that the policemen could have an improved lifestyle. Previously, there were reports that at least one-third of the total police stations of the province would be made model police stations during the first year while the rest would be given this status in next two years.

The original plan, as announced by the PTI-led government after coming into power in the province last year, was to introduce the shift system for police constables besides other infrastructural development.

PESHAWAR: Two policemen escorting a polio vaccination team for security were shot dead in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday, DawnNews reported.

The two cops were returning to their homes after performing their duties when the were targeted by unknown gunmen in Garo Ahmed area of D I Khan, killing the two on the spot.

Police and rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the bodies to a hospital for post-mortem.

Efforts to eradicate it have been seriously hampered by the deadly targeting of vaccination teams in recent years.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, chairing a meeting of Polio Task Force at the PM Secretariat in Islamabad, expressed concerns over stopping of the polio immunisation campaign by force.

Sharif said that a health emergency had been imposed in the country to eradicate polio from it.

Talking about the worrisome number of polio cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federelly Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) the premier said that polio vaccine should be available to every child in the country.

He, moreover, expressed fears of a travel ban being imposed of Pakistanis owing to the growing number of polio cases.

The prime minister also said that no compromise would be made on the National Emergency Action Plan for polio eradication.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) on Jan 17 had declared Pakistan's troubled northwestern city of Peshawar as the world’s “largest reservoir” of endemic polio and called for urgent action to boost vaccination.

Militant groups see vaccination campaigns as a cover for espionage, and there are also long running rumours about polio drops causing infertility.

Increasing number of polio cases have give rise to fears that Pakistanis could face travel restrictions over the growing polio cases in the country.

can all this & that, super cop, good cop & sweet actions stop terrorists atacking polio teams in kpk? no!

It is safe to assume that certain terrorist elements remain focused on disrupting nation’s security. They do not want to see our nations succeed in our peace objectives, and these acts of terror clearly aim to send the region into chaos and frenzy, especially Pakistan. At the same time, we greatly admire Pakistan’s will and desire in combating terrorism. The great nation of Pakistan has lost thousands of security personnel, including civilians, to acts of terror. Despite all these attempts, the terrorists have been unable to stop our nations from moving forward. We share a common stance against terrorism, and refuse to bow down to terrorism. We stand by the government of Pakistan in their efforts to negate the threat of terrorism, and certainly hope to work together to restore peace in the region.

Two kidnappers arrested

Pishtakhara police arrested Muhammad Wasil and Sameeullah on Wednesday for the kidnapping and murdering eight-year-old Hisamul Haq, an Afghan national and son of a wealthy trader currently residing in Academy Town.

“The boy was kidnapped on Tuesday night and given a sedative after which he fell unconscious and died, probably due to an overdose,” said a police official, adding that the child’s body was then left near his house. An FIR was registered and the police started a search for the accused, who were caught the next morning.

Let's hope the momentum is maintained.

The first order of the day is to ensure law and order in the KPK, and to do that they seriously need to update their equipment and tactics.
