Police: Navy SEAL accidentally shoots self

SAN DIEGO (AP) — San Diego police say a Navy SEAL is on life support after accidentally shooting himself in the head.
Officer Frank Cali tells U-T San Diego (Navy man shoots self accidentally | UTSanDiego.com ) that officers were called to a home in Pacific Beach at about 2 a.m. Thursday on a report that a man had been playing with a gun and accidentally shot himself.
Cali says the man was showing guns to a woman he'd met earlier at a bar and put a pistol he believed was unloaded to his head. Cali says he then pulled the trigger.
In a statement, Commodore Collin Green says the Naval Special Warfare community is saddened by the incident and extends "our hearts and prayers" to the family in this difficult time.

When you join any special forces, there is always the oath you take. You present yourselves as the best disciplined human out in the civilian world. Which means, this guy should be presenting himself as a true soldier. But he didn't check that the gun had one bullet/cartridge in the chamber.....now that is truly pathetic.

I have done shooting myself, the first you do is that you check if the firearm has any bullet/cartridge in it. And you never point firearms at yourself or anyone...not even for fun.

This guy doesn't deserve to be a SEAL.
